WickedFire lose weight and get ripped thread (2015 edition)

Ah shit, this brings back memories. Who remembers WFCompetition.com?

We had a few challenges from before.

Just started using my kettlebell again. What a great investment. Hands down the best ~$120 I've ever spent on a piece of equipment.

Here's why everyone who isn't already good at eating salads and running around the block in the morning will fail.

Cuz you obviously don't have any fit friends. If you did - that fit friend would've dragged you around with him or her for months until you look like them. It's not hard to get pretty when you can secure a lifting partner for a few months that will show up every day of the month including days you don't want to do anything.

So instead of a contest of a bunch of fat people trying to lose weight for the 2015th recorded year in a row by posting on a thread - mebbe try an "accountability-partner" thing this time on your thread. I'm pretty sure having to tell some marketer that you're a sad fuck who ate a large pizza and 6 beers by yourself for dinner tonight will help more than posting "IM IN" on another weight loss thread.

Best way to work out is by yourself at the gym, it's better because you are not wasting time watching each other, if you go SOLO, you can do more workout faster and less time consuming. I work out solo, its my motivation to go there and get it done.

That's stupid to say.

There's no "best way" to work out. I thought it was "best to work out by myself" - and couldn't figure out why I got so bored and hard to maintain a REAL lifting schedule past few years. And after trying to convert a few friends into lifters, like I'm sure you've tried, and had them tell you their car is broken for a month after working out for 3 days [POFBen, rofl] - you naturally decided it was better to lift alone since can rely on yourself to be there daily. Then I found a good lifting partner who'll stand there over me and yell if I'm being a bitch about going that night, and who asked the same from me - and it's been like rediscovering the weight room in my highschool the first time.

If you get the best results from doing it solo - that makes sense. But to decide what's "best" for everyone is silly. Especially if you don't understand that different things work for different individuals in all scopes of life including working out.

Also - your point isn't relevant to the average Wickedfire person. If you've ever been fat - you know these guys are already "working out solo". Fat mentality doesn't exactly make them super confident to go hit Gold's at 6PM primetime w the cool workout crowd and find themselves a lifting buddy. And obviously that's done fuck all for them. There's no harm in trying it with a partner at this point, right? Einstein told us all we're insane to try the same thing over and over and expect a different results - so while working out solo might've worked out for you personally, it obviously has not worked for the majority of everyone else.

Basically - I'm not arguing w anyone here, but your point was more of a "oh well, look at me - I'm so kewl, doing it solo" whereas mine was a useful suggestion for the 95% of the people out there that benefit more from partner training.

From this post, I can almost definitely say 2 things:

1 - You are not very strong and/or
2 - You've never had a good lifting partner

I moved, so I'm currently lifting alone, but the motivational and strength gains you can get from a dedicated partner that is reliable, pushes and especially spots you far surpass those that MOST people can ever get on their own.

No partner is better than a bad one, but a good one is gold.

That's why I went with a personal trainer. I workout with him for an hour twice a week. Since I'm paying a fair amount per session I'm not going to skip out on them, even if I'm not feeling it.

Likewise I'm not going to ignore his advice - it would be stupid to spend all that money to get one on one attention with him and then not follow his dieting advice, or not do the other workouts he tells me to do on my own time at the gym.

I mean I guess. I took Jacked. I took NO explode. I took Muscle Pharm assault, all why they where top tier shit. The problem is, eventually you adjust and just don't care. You obviously don't lift so don't talk shit about things you don't know 2 fucks about.
I'll admit nothing is as good as pre-lawsuit jack3d but I still get a nice energy boost and decent muscle pumps from my pre-workout. Also, you're one to talk about not lifting when you're 225lbs and 21% body fat. Maybe you should start.

Here it is

Just pick up your option. Maintaining bigger muscles mass without drugs below 15% BF might be hard.

179 cm 72kg (159lbs)
No lifting
Ketosis, fasting and light swimming (20 mins, 2 times a week)

Going by the pictures, I am between 15-20%.

Was lighter in summer at 70kg, but generally we get fatter in cold weather. So will expect 2kg to come off naturally when weather gets better.

2500 cals seem like quite a lot. I usually aim for 2000 when I want to lose weight.

I'm currently using MyFitnessPal to try to lose the moobs. They have me at 1610 for a daily caloric intake goal. Surprisingly, I'm able to keep it under that nearly every day. Although I've realized that I get about 1 dessert/day and that's it. And it's not a big one...

I still have the occasional sugar during the day and I'm not sure if this can prevent the weight loss, even though my calories are under goal.

My main meals have gotten very healthy even though I could stand to ditch the candy during snacktime. Here's my average meals:

Breakfast - Protein bar
Brunch - Egg Whites or 3/4 ounce almonds
Lunch - 1/2 cold cut sandwich with 5-6 potato chips
Afternoon Snack - 1 cup of popcorn, 2-3 pieces of candy (can't shake the craving)
Dinner - 2 pieces of Tilapia with salad
Post-Workout - Chocolate protein shake w/ Stevia sweetner
Late Night Snack - Rum and Coke with 2-3 cups of popcorn

You can buy sugar-free candy. It will make you shit your pants if you eat too much as an incentive not to eat too much. Sugar-free ice cream isn't half bad either.

Also the biggest help for me (personally) was having a gym that was extremely close to where I was living. I started lifting in college. The gym was literally ~7 minutes from the time I left my room to when I was warming up in the rack. The second biggest help was having a program (I used stronglifts, but any beginner program should work well). I didn't really know anything, but I knew (or thought) that following the program as it was written would work, and it did.

What I like about lifting is that it's very predictable, and doesn't have to be complicated if you don't want it to be. It's like painting by numbers.

What's up with all the snacking?
Your plan sounds like that of a carb addict trying to be healthy. Go all in and just be a bit hungry for a while.

PS: I've already lost 2 KG since this thread was started (that's around 4 pounds for the metrically challenged). Not as much as i wanted, but at least it keeps progressing. 5-7KG lost in total so far.

Not sure if you'll lose any weight on your candy diet but it won't be sustainable. Try eating paleo. You can eat grass-fed beef, grass-fed butter, lamb, bacon, whole eggs (the yolk is nutritious), leafy greens, etc. Eating saturated fat doesn't make you fat. You can eat as much as you want and still lose weight. Also, your carb intake is fueling your sugar cravings.

If your calorie output is more than input - still works, but those 3 pieces of candy are an extra 1400 calories a week. Given that you're probably aiming for 1-2lbs a week of weight loss - 3500 to 7000 lost through a harrowing week of not eating everything, doesn't it feel like you're punching yourself in the face by adding those 1400 for like 30 seconds of pleasure a day to your hardlost 3500-7000 a week?

Also - have you tried fruit? Good fruit. Something that you've always been like - AWWW SHEEEIT IT'S A MOTHERFUCKIN PINEAPPLE. Or whatever you're into. Fuck your candy. Fructose over sucrose.

Why not try this for a week to get going:

Breakfast: Bullion or coffee with 2 tablespoons MCT oil and 20g butter
Lunch: 3 Keto buns with butter
Dinner: Steamed broccoli with butter

Add: eggs,a wide variety of leafy green vegetables, maybe a handful of nuts.

Snack: Protein shake (blows my mind how that isn't a snack for you)

No clue how fast this would lead to malnutrition, not meant to be a year round diet. Do this, add some cardio and you will lose several pounds/week.

No clue about meat, but paleo guys say its important.

Change to

Breakfast - Egg Whites with broccoli and red peppers

Brunch - 3/4 ounce almonds (Protein bar these tend to be high in sugar if they are sugar free they are even worse for you... exception being Stevia), OR have some organic cottage cheese with nuts and fruit.

Lunch - 1/2 cold cut sandwich (implies bread which is just hard on the body) with 5-6 potato chips (Uggggg fried food is just awful for your body and weight loss, potatoes are just straight sugar)
Try tuna fish on a mixed green salad

Afternoon Snack - 1 cup of popcorn, 2-3 pieces of candy (can't shake the craving)
If you would like to lose weight, maintain your energy level, put on muscle, and in general stay healthy you HAVE to watch your insulin level which is related to your intake of carbohydrates. You can get an idea of how a food will spike your sugar level and therefore your insulin by looking at the GI (Glycemic Index) of that food, LOWER is better

Cookie: average all types 84
Popcorn 72
Banana, ripe 62
Apples 38
Popcorn would seem to be a 'diet food' but it is the furthest thing from that. Corn products, and corn for that matter, are not healthy and tend to be VERY high in sugar.

The craving for sugar will drop as you stop making your sugar spike and crash. More protein, more complex carbohydrates, more GOOD fats. LESS simple carbohydrates, less bread, potatoes, less sugar (do not drink your calories)

Dinner - 2 pieces of Tilapia with salad Nice, you can add a boiled sweet potato

Post-Workout - Chocolate protein shake w/ Stevia sweetner. LOL this is the ONE time where you WANT to have sugar in your diet. Sugar helps transport the protein into the cell PLUS if you had a good work out your blood sugar is low and you need to replenish that or it results in muscle break down.

Late Night Snack - Rum and Coke with 2-3 cups of popcorn. Switch to Vodka and club, scotch and water, Anything on the rocks. Nix the mixers. Drop the popcorn! have almonds, macadamia nuts (massive calories but the fat in them is VERY good fat) walnuts.

Keep at it. Do not give up. It is OK to slip, just start again.

Good Luck
