Wickedfire Member Sells Startup For $120MM

Also the "some value" is the famous journalist who started it and got 10,000s of hours of prime time TV coverage of him sitting on morning TV sofas talking about money saving and mentioning his site :)

Wait, you're saying it's not because his site is a PR6?

What, are you in grade school? My post count is on the low to nonexistent side because I'm completely new to this industry and have little to nothing to contribute. I'm on this forum at least 4 days out of the week doing everything in my power to absorb as much info as quickly as possible. Not everybody is a special kind of genius, such as yourself. If someone here wants to navigate their company/product through the fed guv contacting maze, I'd be more than willing to assist them, but since it's not a guv contracting forum I have "absolutely nothing to contribute". If someone really wants assistance, pm your email to me and I'd be happy to help. If I can't answer your questions immediately, I have the ability to have an answer within a couple of hours.

Once I've built this new venture into another success, I have every intention of starting a thread to share my experiences, as I do now by mentoring kids by helping them determine their best possible avenue to take based on their personality traits and interests.

Wow...you're esteemed enough to know what my knowledge and acumen level is...? As stated above, I'm new to this business, but that doesn't mean I'm unable to admit what I don't know.

Since post count is what you use to determine knowledge and acumen and your post count is roughly 20 times that of Eduardo, why don't you educate us on your 20 9 figure acquisitions? I would love to hear your experiences or maybe you can package your wealth of knowledge of all those 9 figure buyouts into a WSO. I'm completely confident you'll be able to charge at least 99 cents because of your superb writing skills. Also, using the same metric I'm sure you have absolutely no need to be a part of the hangout...because, you know, you have 20 times the level of knowledge and acumen of Eduardo. I'm sure he could learn a lot from you.

Btw, CCarter, thanks for having the class of sending me a pm to inform me of my mistake.

Oh snap, new guy has spunk.

This isn't THAT surprising. From the limited time I have been here so far, I have seen some of the members here do things I hadn't even thought possible before. This forum is a decently tightknit community that actually exchanges valuable info and services.

I wouldn't expect to see that kind of success on say, another forum I cannot name.

That's not all we exchange.

Oh snap, new guy has spunk.

Not sure if I have snap or not, but determining someone's intellect from a number as benign as a post count is just ignorant. I've made my share of a couple of posts that got me flamed, if you go back and look at my comments I completely deserved them and took them on the chin with no issues.

One of the many reasons I enjoy coming and lurking is not only the the vast amount of knowledge and experience here, but also because of the of the smart azz responses and comments. I probably come here more for the latter. I've even used the recommendations of others to purchase quite of few of the services offered here.

I've already had a pm from a respected member here (since post count is important, he has over 3,300 of them and has been here since 2008) looking for assistance in fed guv contracting (he has a fantastic product that I think needs to be promoted through the proper channels), and as stated in my original post I'm doing everything I can to help guide him and his company...I'm just waiting on additional info so we can continue. I still can initiate a pm so I'm forced to leave messages on the open board and hope that he sees it.

Some personal thoughts and feedback:

Over the last 3 years he must have done a lot right. Most of us are busy playing in the sandbox while others are creating the playground that encompasses that sandbox. While there are benefits and drawbacks to both a $120MM payout shows that the benefits outweighs the negatives.

His traffic last month according to Compete.com was 6.4 million uniques:
https://siteanalytics.compete.com/bright.com/

With that kind of traffic and the big increase YoY that makes any website attractive where the cost of acquiring users can be substantial in the outsourcing niche. Linkedin is the future of all job hiring and professional networking so purchasing a site that specializes in this with a large traffic base and technology behind it is logical.

As sites like theladders.com no longer do exclusively 100K+ salary jobs and the monster.com, and Craigslist's job postings are relatively junk on their own according to a recent discussion I had with a job placement professional who said it's all linkedin and knowing people these days is how he finds qualified job applicants.

It looks like he used EWA to drive traffic and leads and it worked out well for him. Imagine being his top affiliate who sent that traffic while your paydays were very nice you probably aren't getting a % of that sale price.

Congrats Eduardo!

Now back to building my playground

Made the homepage video for these guys. Nobody ever contacted me about a % of the payout.

No problem, I don't wanna get in anyones way.

I'll just sit here and wait, am sure they will be contacting me any day now ... soon ... soon ...

Assuming the proofs of that site weren't faked, if he was able to negotiate a private deal for $120 million the site easily could have sold for $500 million or more on flippa, even though bright is not a very strong EMD.

I think $500Million is a bit too much for a site that makes its money from Job CPA offers. Adsense is more stable. He should use adsense and infolinks too.
