Saw an ad on Facebook that looks promising... I'd like to copy it (maybe no the whole thing but a lot of it). I just don't want to be an asshole, even though the guy running it would probably never know. It probably wouldn't even interfere with his ads.

Maybe I'm just being too nice in this game, what do you think?

Nick

dude, AM is all about dirt and trying the shit out of everything in my opinion, so go ahead!

lol... I don't think it would matter anyway on facebook. There are so many impressions availible plus I'm not copying the entire thing. I'm changing the image and the text.

But I would never copy your ads anyway :)

so, are the FB ads effective? I heard they can suck hardly, or vice versa. I never been so professionally in to Am, but willing to try. So, what thoughts about Fb ads? Should it be my first PPC campaign? :)

This is my first try... what I like about them so far is that they are really easy to set up and a lot less complicated over all then other forms of ppc marketing like adwords and YSM.

I ended up hitting a winner just a couple hours ago, but I need to work on improving my ctr. I'm just splitting up the ads and testing new things until I find the best one.

So far i've had pretty good luck with them, but I had trouble getting even > .01% ctr at the beginning.

It's all about targeting the right audience with the right product.

As far as having them as your first campaign it's tough to say. Like I said, they are easy to set up and quick to either succeed or fail. I haven't lost very much money at all, only like $5.00 before I started making a profit. Actually, after finding that good one today it put me positive for the day.

You don't really have to spend your time building a landing page so if you fail it doesn't hurt your morality too much.

I could be horribly wrong, but these seem to be my experiences so far.

Hope this makes some sense,
Nick

yah i recommend it....its pretty simple to use, can target your exact market, and you can direct link to your offer even if you want.

wow, thanks for explaining me guys. you guys really covered it nicely :) currently thinking about LP design? Is there particular software to use? Or you code it by yourself? I have some HTML, Php knowledge, but they aren't so good enough I suppose.

I usually just design my own landing page. It's fun, cost effective, and I get to make it exactly how I want.

If you aren't good you can either learn or ask someone on WickedFire to make one for you!

Heck I could even help you out if you wanted.

Im keen on starting a facebook campaign but theres been some debate on WF about direct linking?

I can design some quick LP's of course but id rather test with direct linking first.

so can we direct link or not?

You could, depending on the offer. The only thing you'd need to mask is the URL (tinyurl would probably suffice). I use a dedicated URL forwarded to the offer page directly using htaccess.

I am running a direct affiliate url right now on one of my ads, and doing pretty well. I don't think it's that facebook doesn't allow aff links, it's just certain offers like dating and ringtones they don't like.

Just to clear everything up... I ended up not copying it. I just took the idea and did my own thing. I'm not even promoting it in the same country the person i got my idea from is.

Nick

P.S. If I did copy it and it was yours I would definitely understand raising some hell though. I would do the same.

hah, well someone did copy mine....but its still doing well so meh...biter!

and direct linking is fine for some offers....quick way to test somethin out for sure.
