Agreed Papajohn. Starting to buy in though; apparently even Harvard's head of exobiology has seen the data and is supportive of the conclusions.

wat. finding it is a big deal, and big news. just because statistically we've got an idea we're not the only living things, finding proof is huge.

Quick question for everyone!! if there was another planet out there, very similar to earth, with human beings and on the planet for the same amount of time as us ... do you think their lifestyle would be parallel to ours? or do you think they may have gone on a completely different path?

Nice find. I hope it's true and that contamination from earthly sources can be ruled out. It seems they are pretty confident that this is the real deal, since they have invited 5000 scientists to comment on it and they're eager for someone to give an alternative explanation. No luck do far...
 
many rational people think there is life outside of earth, but to have real physical evidence of it, is probably the biggest discovery of all time.

I hope they peer review the shit out of this, and duplicate the findings by other groups. And if it holds up, I hope they give this guy the Nobel Peace Prize.

If you want a good laugh, read the comments on the fox news article. Some people's world views are being SERIOUSLY threatened by this.
 
Honestly this could signal a serious change in a lot of ideas for us, including how Humans got here. Earth was possibly 'seeded' with life from another planet, comet, etc.
