They sell $20 bills autographed by them for $50 in the store and wont negotiate on "monetary instruments"

Haha. The one that I laughed at was the "one of a kind, tough to find a buyer". A lot of times, their concerns make sense. They have to make a profit on the stuff they sell. People aren't forced to sell their shit. A lot of people on the show could auction off their stuff and pay the auction house a 30% fee (or sell online), pawn shops are just faster and easier. Not to mention they're in Vegas and people need quick cash to throw away at the casinos.

Also, I wonder if there are regulations around pawn shops selling stuff online. It seems like they are missing a huge ecommerce opportunity (last time I checked, they didn't sell stuff online).

I guarantee they sell stuff online, but they aren't stupid enough to make their eBay user name "PawnStarsLasVegas"

MOST pawn shops do sell their stuff online, usually ebay.

Yeah, I would assume so. I have been to their site's "store" before, and all I really saw was a bunch of Pawn Stars swag for sale. You would think that if they did use eBay, they could leverage the popularity of the show/their site to drive up prices on auctions.

The sellers are sometimes good for a laugh too when they shoot themselves in the foot. I caught an episode last night that went:

Seller (to camera outside store): "I'd like to get $400 but I'll settle for $300"

<Historical interlude and critical evaluation "drama" />

Rick: "So how much you looking to get?"

Seller: "$300"

^^^ Way to kneecap yourself right out of the gate fucker. Seller settled for $150

^^ Yeah, some of the sellers are hilarious. Sometimes they are like, "I'd like to get $3000, but the absolute LEAST I would take is $1,500." A short time later they are outside, "I got $450, I'm happy. It's more than I came in with. I'm going to have a nice dinner!"
