Just got this:

Dear AdWords Advertiser,

We're writing to let you know about a change to Google's advertising
policies that may affect your AdWords account.

Beginning in the coming weeks, we are expanding our Mobile
Subscription Services policy to no longer accept AdWords ads that
promote mobile content that require users to enter personal
information if the site does not clearly display pricing. Mobile
content includes, but is not limited to, one-off purchases as well as
subscriptions.

We will also require that subscription information be clearly
displayed if the service is not a one-off purchase. For sites
promoting subscription services, both the price and billing interval
should be displayed along with a checkbox or other opt-in method. If
the user does not opt in, he or she should not be able to proceed.
All of the above should be located in a prominent place on the page on
which users enter their personal information and should be easy to
find, read and understand.

When we make this change, Google will suspend all ads identified as
being in violation of this policy. If your account is affected by this
policy change, please make any necessary changes to your site to
comply.

We have thought hard about our stance on the advertising of this
content and the potential effect that our policy decision could have
on AdWords advertisers. However, as a business, Google must make
decisions regarding the advertising that we accept. We apologise for
the inconvenience that this policy change may cause you.

Yours sincerely,

The Google AdWords Team

I take it they are going to crack down on mobile subscription ads more heavily now, or does anyone else see anything new with regard to ringtones? Didn't they already require all of this when they made the changes last November?

If you are already following all of the affiliate networks "rules" you should be just fine. Just don't advertise them as FREE and have your landing pages compliant as well.

Except thats the whole point, everyone is using non compliant pages. Sure, they are following the providers rules, but Google wants a few additional steps, specifically the opt-in part before being able to submit the phone #.

Evolve or die. Google adwords is one big game of Pokemon kids.... Evolve, or get stuck in a pokeball saying your name over and over and over for the rest of your life.

I have no fucking clue what that means.
Pop Culture reference. Look up "Pickachu" on youtube.

What he means is that you need to constantly be changing what it is you're doing or it's game over.
Just because you hit on something, and it works, doesn't mean it'll last forever, so you should constantly be trying new stuff out that other people are not.

Honestly, I amazed people still buy ringtones. Don't most phones play Mp3s as ring tones as well now?

Thank god this happened, I'm so sick of cell# submit ringtone offers, and those shady diet offers that give you a free trial for a product that doesn't work but bill you every month. As an AM I have a real problem promoting something dishonest and I'm a pretty shrewd guy as it is!

I found the perfect offer for you. Really ties in with your business model:
