lol Xmcp123 said he wasn't crazy enough to start a debate thread on Scientology or Abortion.

I took that as a challenge :P

So... How can we start this?

Scientology is a completely bullshit, money grubbing excuse for a religion. If you really believe ANY of the bullshit that Scientologists tell you, you're stupid.

And I got my -then- long time girlfriend preggos when I was 17...

Sadly, the child didn't make it past the appointment with the abortion clinic for some reason.

Never regret the decision, and I'd do it again.

What right do I have to bring a child into this world if I can't give it the life it deserves? ...Have any of you grown up in poverty?

If so, you might know what I'm talking about...

:)

Let the wars begin my friends!

Oh, and remember, one of two completely retarded and shitty candidates is going to be voted President of the United States of America today!

Fuck them both! :)

Finally, the pain ends today. Maybe then we can go back to discussing money making methods.

On topic, yes, you did well with the child. 17 is not an age to become a parent.

And Scientology's creator actually has a book on "how to become rich by creating a religion". I love that guy...

Scientology is a scam and I feel bad for its followers.

Eh, I'd say you should have given adoption a chance, but you're right, 17 is too young to raise a child.

Who's to say the child wouldn't have a good life if somebody were to adopt them?

Wtf does poverty have to do with it. There's free condoms at lots of places. As uber said, adoption is an option as well.

I'm pretty much against abortion in situations like yours. The only time I would be OK with it is in cases of rape.

Back in my home country abortion is illegal and enough people manage to raise good kids coming from poverty.

You simply took the easy way out.

What the bloody hell do men have to do with abortion?

Here's a bloody news flash!!!! Slap on a slim-jim if you don't want an unwanted child in the world....

All those super religious types quoting the bible get on my effing nerves (and this is coming from a person really into spirituality/believer-in-God)

There are hundreds of millions of unwanted children in the world. There doesn't need to be any more......

Life can be tough to begin with.....

Bringing a child into what could amount to a living hell is not being "pro-life" at all.

Tell those idiots to stop quoting the bible to support their abortion/pro-choice beliefs. If I were to get biblical I would say what Jesus said when he was like "deal with the fucking plank of wood in your own eye before you go worrying about the speck of dust in someone else's - dumbass moron"

I agree kill that little bastard.

I see where some of you are coming from, sure you could give it up for adoption, but for some people that's probably going to hurt worse. Plus come on make the woman carry that shit around for 9 mo. + all the medical bills.

If someone wants to go out there and "get `er done", well hell that's their choice, and they can live with it. Who the fuck are you to say otherwise?

You pro-life people make me sick. A few less people in the world won't really matter, the world keeps turning.

I'm sick, so forgive me for not being too in depth with the things I say...

When I said poverty, there was an underlying definition...

First and foremost, I've had times where I couldn't feed myself... Literally. I had no means to raise, feed, clothe, and shelter a child.

Of course, adoption does give them a chance.

But, have you ever seen how adopted kids turn out?

I know +/- 20 kids that were adopted or given up by their parents

A few of them are dead, some from gang violence, some from drugs, some from murder... The rest are in prison... Some from gang violence, some from drugs, some for murder.

These are people I grew up with.

Why the hell would you want to bring more people into the world, just to let them figure life out the wrong way, due to their lack of family, love, and stability?

Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm one of the few people that has seen the ugly side of things and still come back to be halfway intelligent, but this shit happens every day, and that's a waste of life.

It's all 50/50... Because it doesn't happen, we can only speculate. But, what if I had chosen the bad way to handle things... What if I didn't provide for the child... Then the mother (who was younger than I) had the burden of the kid... So then she raises the kid to hate me... She hates life because she regrets her decision and finally realizes she can't handle the responsibilities of a child... She does drugs... The kid grows up without family, without direction, and with minimal public education...

Come 12-13 years old, the kid is out on the streets doing drugs and getting in trouble... A few years later, guess what happens...

The kid does the same bullshit we did!

What if it goes the wrong direction... Turns to drugs, crime, or anything else bad? Maybe its a boy... he has a kid at 16-18... then he gets killed over a fucking drug deal in some shitty neighborhood... Look at all the lives that ruins...

It's an endless cycle, and none of it is good.

Just my .02 cents...

And as far as Scientology, L Ron Hubbard was a genius, I'll give him that...

Only one argument matters.. As long as it has no brain, it's just a bunch of cells that are part of your body. You don't need an excuse to remove cells from your body.

Gotta agree here. It's more about that even if you give up the kid, you no longer have any control that the child will be well taken care of.

Sure it could all end up smelling roses, but it has a just as good chance of going terribly down hill.

Nothing is absolute and adoption is not a guaranteed best method.

Phre0nBurn I still don't agree. Then again I have a personal story that counters your argument that I'd rather not share publicly, but feel free to pm me if you want.

I believe the answer lies in Choice. My own personal choice. Even if you think it’s wrong, it’s not your call. I wanna abort…fine abort…i don’t…fine I don’t.

This answer is transferable to almost any other tough situation. Euthanasia? Choice… Gay marriage? ..Choice… Fleshlight addict?... Choice… just give people the choice to do what they want to do. But educate the fools and let them know the facts/consequences for their actions. When you get forced to do something you don’t want to, if often results in anger and anguish.

There are many in WickedFire who are strong arguments for abortion.
Ha!

OK, I have hardly posted on WF...why not start on this?

Phre0nBurn, Rage09, and anyone else, lively conversation fun aside, surely those who advocate for freedom of choice on abortion can allow themselves to feel some grief for a lost life...I don't know how the abortion conversation got to where it is today. Who the hell is pro-abortion? Really?

As for Scientology...a tidy illustration of how easily the mentally ill can blend in with 'normal' society.

Agree with ya completely.

Scientology = pile of wank

Fetus != a person

Imagine if a human fetus was to be regarded the same as a living human... A poor diet, drinking or smoking during pregnancy would equal child abuse and animal fetuses would logically have to be given the same rights as living animals in respect to animal cruelty laws.

Fuck, some of the states still execute people for murder - death rows would quickly fill up with women who travelled across the border rather than pump out an unwanted child into an already over-populated world.

Well, if you really want to have fun,
I WILL COMBINE THE TWO

Scientology has a nasty habit of forced/coerced abortions on their "Sea org" members.
Coerced Scientology Abortions

Or an exerpt from exscn.net
People who dared to get pregnant were subjected to lower conditions, harrassment and enormous pressure to have abortions. Some resisted and left the SO, usually not allowed to go until days before the birth, then sent to a very small downstat org with no money. Those that didn't resist would have the abortion. This became commonplace.
Or from Xenu Directory
I told the Medical Officer (Martine Collins) of my pregnancy. She immediately went into action to arrange for my abortion. She told me, that I would naturally be expected to pay for it myself, since it was considered Out Ethics to get pregnant. (Out Ethics in Scientology simply means your reasoning facilities are no longer thinking in a direction designed to promote Scientology and must be corrected).
Defendants had engaged in fraud in not telling Plaintiff, at the time of his recruitment, about Hubbard's attitude toward children as being "expensive inconveniences" and that Scientology Sea Org staff members are routinely ordered to have abortions because children interfere with "production" and require "family time"
There's dozens of stories like these. No, adoption is never given as an option. Abort or leave. And leaving means no money(they don't pay minimum wage, $35-75 week have been given as figures), no friends(all ordered to "disconnect" from you), no spouse, no access to any kids you may already have. If you're in a labor camp(RPF) it's challenging to even get your passport back. Also if you leave, they can redact the "discount" you got by being staff dropping you into massive debt.

Btw, check out xenutv.com for some interesting videos. The 4th of July one is pretty interesting, guy is creepy as hell.

Abortion should definitely not be a government issue. And the pro-life folks should spend their money on making sure parents can raise already born kids properly rather than fighting the pro-choice folks.

And the "Church" of Scientology is a bunch of tools, they guys on top are probably banking hardcore though.

I edited the link because I think you got the wrong url. xenu.tv=scientology squatting the domain with a sockpuppet organization.
xenutv.com=mark bunker.
If you intended it the way it was, I'll change it back.
