Any of you see a Chiropractor regularly for Back/Neck pain?

Here's how I fixed my back problems

- Proper ergonomics, make sure the angles are right

- Ergonomic chair, I use a steelcase leap chair

- Physical exercises. I did a lot of core training (deadlifts, squats, etc.) and brazilian Jiujitsu. Yoga is quite good as well

- I also did about 10 lessons in "the alexander technique" in order to help my posture

- Stretch a few times a day.

Back used to go out every two or three years and the chiro would fix it up. Insurance covered it, so wasn't concerned. This time, back went out and chiro was useless. After a month I found a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/North-American-Healthcare-JB4866-Stretcher/dp/B001G6ZRF0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1316152795&sr=8-1"]back stretcher[/ame] (was $12, is now $20) and a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Pain-Management-TENS-7000-Digital/dp/B005BT9DO4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1316153048&sr=8-1"]TENS unit[/ame] (was $30 now $36) on Amazon. Used daily first week and now I use as needed -stretcher maybe two three times a week - before I have to take pain killers by the handful.

Best purchases ever!

Hubby surprised me with a new task chair. (Did happy dance and squeed like a fan girl meeting Justin Bieber.)

But, if you don't flex your body, get your ass out of the chair at least every two hours, and if you keep repeating the stuff that made your back go out in the first place, you're screwed.

@GerardWon: Yea, I've been doing alot more stretches now. But I'm in the maintenance phase now and go once every 2 weeks. I don't mind paying $90/month to keey my spine healthy and properly aligned.

@DocApocalypto: Yea, the first thing I did was optimize my work station. Raised my monitor, got my chair at a good height, etc. Problem is I have one of the big comfy leather chairs, they feel great, but have no lower back support whatsoever. I think I might buy a chair though, its a tax write-off for the home office anyway.

Good man.

For me it wasn't the money. It was the time.

Also deep down I was a bit concerned that one day a mishap, during a neck adjustment, would fuck me up.

Here are some athletes that use chiropractic:

Athletes
Chiropractic Care is great for anyone involved in athletics, whether you are a professional or weekend warrior. By keeping your spine functioning as optimally as possible, you will play better, help prevent injuries, and help heal old injuries.

“I would estimate that in excess of 90% of all world-class athletes use Chiropractic care to prevent injuries and to increase their performance potential.” Sean Atkings, Ph D Exercise Physiologist

Aaron Rodgers - 2011 Super Bowl Champ and MVP quarterback

Lance Armstrong - 7 time Tour deFrance Champion

Arnold Schwarzenegger - actor, bodybuilder, governor

Evander Hollyfield - former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion
"I found that going to a chiropractor helps my performance. Once I drove 20 miles to see a chiropractor before a fight. I must have my adjustment before I go into the ring."

Michael Jordan - basketball legend

Tiger Woods - top professional golfer
"Being a chiropractor patient has really helped me immensely."

"...lifting weights and seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis has made me a better golfer. I've been going to Chiropractors for as long as I can remember. It's as important to my training as practicing my swing.”

Dan O'Brien - Gold Medal Decathlon
"You obviously can't compete at your fullest if you're not in alignment. And your body can't heal if your back is not in alignment. It was the holistic idea that I liked about chiropractic and that is what track and field is about. Every track and field athlete that I have ever met has seen a chiropractor at one time or another. In track and field, it is absolutely essential. Chiropractic care is one of the things I think that no one has denied or refuted."

Joe Montana - former San Francisco 49ers QB great
"Chiropractic care works for me."

John Smoltz - Atlanta Braves Pitcher

I'll bet over 50% of them pray as well, what's your point, that athletes are as retarded as everyone else? I think we already knew that.
