Buy a juicer

Yeah a 100% fruit juice is just drinking straight sugar, granted its better than a soda but dark green veggies is where it's at.

Ordered some chia seeds online, gonna see how that goes mixed in w/ a veggie juice.

may not know a whole lot about online marketing (yet) but goddamn I love me some juicing.

My Nutribullet is the greatest thing ever. Throw some pineapple, cranberry, banana, a shitton of kale and some water into the cup. Maybe add some chia seed or if Im feeling really ballsy, some Maca Powder (this stuff is over powering). Thats my favorite. Always good to rotate some carrots, avacado, other fruits.

Cleanup is absolutely breezy. Drink straight from the cup, wash cup. Done and out. Maybe throw a lid on it and finish it off later. Want to have one ready in the morning? No fucking problem. Get your cups, throw whatever you want into it for the morning, throw the blade on, stick that bitch in the fridge. Wake up, grab your cup, stick on the blender, breakfast in ten seconds. You didnt have to pull any produce out.

Best part, nothing is filtered out. You get every single thing you put into it. All pulp, skin, rinds, its all powering your day.

I dont care how cheesy those infomercials are. Blast those cells inside out. Love my fucking Bullet.

^ +1 yes, especially for maca root powder, that shit is awesome but doesn't taste good at all. I'm going to have to try some pineapple in mine soon.

I put the chia seeds in my normal breakfast blender shake every morning.

Let me tell you guys about this shake that is absolutely delicious, nutritious and filling. It has :

Almond milk, banana, a little vanilla protein powder, coco powder, raw honey, sometimes an egg, chia seeds and virgin coconut oil.

Tastes like a freakin Almond Joy shake. It's a bit high in calories (although I try to keep it at around 400-500 calories) but I drink it at around 7 am and am not hungry again until 12 or 1.

I've been doing it almost every morning for about 6 months now and I never get tired of it, it's that good.

Update: Switched it up a bit, I'm now juicing BEFORE dinner (1 hour before) because I realized that it fills me up a lot so I eat less stuff for dinner. Ex. last night me and my fiancee shared 1/2 a chicken w/ rice, whereas before I'd eat that myself.

can toss other shit in the mix like maca root powder, flax seed and cashews - keeps you feeling full much better than juicing also.

Well now you've done it. I've went out and got a Nutribullet at Target today. It was the mixing in the nuts/seeds that did it for me. I do that anyways in my morning shakes but it would be nice to expand on that since I try to incorporate alot of nuts/seeds in throughout the day. Also wanted to try the sneaky juice (throwing in kale into the fruit blends) for the kiddos. (which is hard with a crappy blender)

Just made a snack of frozen banana, almond milk and flax seed. That was way too yummy to be healthy.

I still might just use the juicer for the all veggie route...I can't imagine blending all veggies...yeck. But I'll try it once anyways. Any tips?

edit: Hubby's going to be displeased coming home to a cabinet full of Juicer, Blender and now a "Nutrition Extractor".

Biggest pain with the juicing, it how long it takes to clean the damn machine. I'm thinking about getting a high quality blender, just because there are way less moving parts and takes about 30 seconds to clean a blender vs the 4-5 minutes it takes each time to tear down the damn juicer and clean it.

This dude did have a good idea of putting a bag in the back receptacle, but still even when he's cleaning it like he's on crack it takes a good 2 minutes to clean. And honestly the back part is about the easiest part of it to clean and is similar to a blender where you can wash it out in 15-20 seconds, so I am not really sure how much time you are really saving with the whole bag method.

Def. wouldn't recommend it. When I first got my Nutribullet for some reason I had the idea I'd just put in all the same shit as when I juiced and it didn't work at all, for example carrots make it disgusting where as carrot juice kicks ass normally.

I'd check out the book it comes with for ideas, I think the ratio is 50% veg/50% fruit or something + your seeds/powders/etc. Otherwise it tends to get pretty nasty. I usually just buy a big bag of frozen fruit that doubles as the ice + flavor for covering the kale/spinach/greens/etc.

What was so disgusting about it? The flavor or the texture? Theoretically, there shouldn't be any difference in the flavor when juicing / grinding or am I wrong?

I'm still not sure what to get. I think I'll just try the Nutribullet for a week and if I don't feel comfortable with it, I'll just bring it back.

There is definitely a difference. I tried blending just veggies last night (no fruit except lemon) and the texture is very different. With juicing it's like vegetable ...well...juice. The blending is is drinking pulpy veggies (no matter how good the blender it's still going to be pulpy). Not very pleasant. I probably wouldn't be able to do it all if I hadn't been so used to the taste of the juice already (the taste is almost the same although there is a freshness to the juice that's not quite achieved with the blender).

In other words, when you're doing stuff like this you have to be ok with 2 different factors: Taste and Texture. People tend to underestimate how important texture is in your decision to like or dislike food (this is usually why people don't like mushrooms, for example).

Both of these factors are going to be hard for the average person, say nothing for a picky eater like Mike. So it's important to start out easy and then keep racking it up a notch when you've got your veggie legs, so to speak.

Yeah, Turbo's post. Especially with carrots though IMO, they are realllly fibrous and just have a fucked up dense texture when blended compared to juice.

This is why I don't use super fibrous veggies in the Nutribullet and always go fitty/fitty with fruits/veggies, it's basically a necessity. Well worth it though.

Probably the best thing I ever purchased for my health. (Philips HR 1861)

The difference in energy and focus is incredible. It's better than jack3d!

So far I've juiced 10 carrots, 4 apples, oranges, a pear, a kiwi, spinach, some tomatoes, some berries, onions and garlic, and a potato.
