Climate change? do you believe it?

Scientists studying climate have a huge incentive to "support" anthropomorphic global warming. Just like economists have a huge incentive to "support" central banking. If you want to stay on the gravy train, you have to follow the party line.

If we do something and global warming is real, and we fail to fix it (either through inaction or misguided action), bad shit might happen.
If we do something and global warming is real, and we fix it, bad shit won't happen.

^^ Don't forget that global warming is a great vehicle for grabbing money and power. Al Gore is not trying to save the fucking planet, he's just stroking his ego and stuffing his pockets. The issue becomes fodder for pro-government propaganda and fucked up spending, e.g. Obama pitches $1B climate change 'resilience fund' | TheHill.

I want environmental resources to be conserved, but I don't want governments co-opting issues that are easy for people to support and using the support to continue growing the government and indoctrinating the populace.

The earth is over populated 3 times over, so its going at a faster rate. Climate change is the biggest threat to humankind in the next few years..

what is the standard of overpopulation? why is that the standard? who decided and set that standard? how do you know that is valid?

Humans are increasing the rate of climate change, the debate should be about the consequences. Best guess so far:

10%: No real affect
80%: Meh
10%: We're fucked.

A few questions...

Who's the world's largest consumer of fossil fuels and toxic pollution?

The U.S. Department of Defense is the largest polluter in the world, producing more hazardous waste than the five largest U.S. chemical companies combined.

What does the co-founder of GreenPeace have to say about man-made global warming? (HINT: He thinks it's political bullshit).

Greenpeace co-founder: No scientific proof humans are dominant cause of warming climate | Fox News

Why so political? Consider the U.N. report on "sustainable development" (not going to call it "Agenda 21" - because that could make me a conspiracy theorist - even though that's what they named it).

That's a fun read. A lot of regulation, restrictions on private property, price controls, dictating where we can live, what we can eat, what medicine we take, etc.

Really? Simple solution then, let's just kill 2/3 of the world's population. The world's largest producer greenhouse emissions (DoD) also happens to be in the business of genocide - how lucky for us!

It really sucks that terrorism and global warming are such a real threat to mankind. Because if I wanted to trick idiots into giving me money and power, I'd probably say something like "Dude, there's a bunch of terrorists that want to murder your family, oh and by the way, the climate is going to kill us all. I know it sucks, but I just need you to give me your money and support the cause, I'll take care of it."

And then I'd use that money to murder millions of people and dump more GHG's into the atmosphere than anyone in history on a daily basis .

When I got bored, I'd go LOL at idiots championing my cause because they're too stupid to realize that they're happily giving me 30-50%+ of their money to support the root cause of the exact shit they're afraid of.

And for further laughs I'd blame the private sector, handout grants to scientists to support my "facts", create arbitrary laws to protect the interests of the energy conglomerates, put chemicals in your food and water, create warheads out of nuclear waste, spend as much fuel on a bomb run as a typical driver would use in 10 years to drop that shit on innocent kids and then double-tap drone their asses just to make sure we're all safe from terrorists and climate change.

Ahh, that niche is already monopolized. Dammit.

Oh well, at least we can trust the Gov to protect us from climate change.

Be less messy if we all stopped trying to get nutters who don't believe in vaccines to stop taking vaccines. I like problems that solve themselves. :angrysoapbox_sml:

I'd love to see the source of your evidence showing proof of this claim. Why? Well, for starters...

Since the last century, by the way, our ecosystem will be in a cluster fuck in a few years, we are already losing all types of frog species and many others. It's all natural baby.

I have a feeling the next terrorist attacks that come again in a few years wont be because they hate us, its because of shit they can't get, like water, food, etc etc..

Wait, are you suggesting that we shouldn't force people to put chemicals into their bodies against their will? So, they like own their body and have a choice as to what they can and can't put into it? THAT is "nutter" talk my friend.

Take off the tin-foil hat, bend-over and be grateful that your overlords are nice enough to inject you with any chemicals that they want to and care about you enough to threaten you with violence if you don't comply (for your own good of course).

Also.. from his wikipedia entry

Today he is the co-founder, chair, and chief scientist of Greenspirit Strategies in Vancouver, a consulting firm that provides paid public relations efforts, lectures, lobbying, opinions and committee participation to government and industry on a wide range of environmental and sustainability issues. He is a frequent public speaker at meetings of industry associations, universities, and policy groups.

So if we follow the gravy train.. someone doing PR for industry might very well have an incentive to deny man's role in global warming.
