Most importantly he got it out of science class. I've honestly never heard an ID lecture but I cant imagine it has any actual science in it. At least nothing that belongs in a textbook or in a state funded program. It's nothing more than a political vice pushing an agenda.

Clearly the people pushing ID in schools aren't concerned with actually improving education. If they were they'd be pushing to bring back lessons around some of the most important events in human history such as the Great Schism and the Christian Crusades. I may not be an athiest like most of WF but I'm also not here to spread my religion. Yet as both a science nerd and a bible nerd I often feel obligated to correct inaccurate rhetoric whenever I see it. I can't help it.

btw as far as the legitimacy of that letter to the catholic church from a supposed nonbeliever. It was actually a chain letter forwarded around the world of AOL back in the day. According to snopes the origins are still unknown but it does have a lot of variations and history. It was started as a pro-gay marriage propaganda piece. it was portrayed as everything from a political letter, radio call-in, church letter etc.

Let's compare numbers luke. How many people did the atheist based government of Russia and China kill. The track record of athiest based governments which is extremely short is more deadly then anything this world has ever seen. Plus I'm sure you'd gas all the worlds cripples to.

Just because a population or government do not beleive in god, it does not mean that they are killing people 'in the name of Atheism'.

If everyone in Russia and China wore red shoes would they be killing people in the name of red shoe wearers?, or would it be a co-incidence that they all wore red shoes and then decided to go on a killing rampage?.

You made it sound like Atheists are so bad. I'm a formally trained Lutheran (not my choice) but the reason Atheists even exist is fucking retarded religious people. If it wasn't for them, there would be no reason for Atheists, so I don't understand blaming them. Atheists get shit on hard core by a large amount of retards (ie religious people) out there. I can't tell you how many times even in the last year I have to visit religious institutions for weddings, funerals, etc... Not only be there, but suppose to buy in to this bullshit.

Buddhism isn't a peaceful religion either. They don't kill other people (to my knowledge) but they some monks have been known to practive self immolation and other crazy self tests that basically end up in buddhists committing religious suicide.

I don't have a problem with religious people, as long as they don't force beliefs or harm others, but I still hate religions because they are medieval belief systems that are divisive and cause people to do evil things.

Crimes done by atheists are entirely different than crimes done in the name of atheism. There is no "Atheist Code of Life and Morality" that atheists fervently believe in and use as a staple to kill.

It's retarded when people bring up Stalin and Hitler as "atheist killers". They were psychopathic murderers following their own decree and their own desire for power and destruction.

And I think all the "extreme atheists are bad" banter can be fixed with changing 'atheist' to 'anti-theist'. Someone vehemently opposed to theistic religion may kill because he believes he's ridding the world of something evil, much in the same way religious people kill. Even still, there is no real doctrine for this like there is in religion.

But there is no real extreme for atheism. It's a simple lack of belief in any god.

Let me put it in other words. In the hands of a small group of atheists 20 million people were killed in a very short period of time in USSR. Its estimated Mao Zedong slaughtered 49-79 million (the worst in world history) Again let me be clear I'm saying in the hands of an Atheist.
