I hope not. Things are finally starting to go my way. The last thing I need is some massive world-wide economic collapse that makes 2008 look like toddler's play.

Several banks got into trouble, plus one went under, and just look at what happened. Imagine what's going to happen if the US goes under.
 
This is just a game.

Even if they pass the day for the default deadline, it doesn't mean a real default will happen.

I'm pretty sure they'll "miraculously" come to a deal at the last minute, or even sooner... Natives are getting kinda restless in DC:

It's all theatre anyway, but perhaps this kind of open defiance will speed it up a bit.



I dunno. But I'll tell you one thing. When election time rolls around, I'm gonna vote for the other guy to make darn sure this never happens again.

GOP are taking a dive in the polls. There will be a deal before default, with both sides claiming victory.
 
There won't be a default in the true meaning of the word.

However, the game of chicken and the show they are putting on can have very real world consequences. I'm talking about interest rates going up and lower consumer and business trust in the economy which can be a self fulfilling prophecy type of thing.
