But on a serious note, I get your meaning (I think). I just disagree with the implication that republicans are more inclined to run a tight fiscal house. On the contrary, they seem to be quite adept at spending money they don't have, running up the bills, and kicking the can down the road when they leave office. They just spend it on different stuff.
The politicians on point when the house of cards falls probably don't deserve all of the blame.
Having said that, I'm certainly no expert on Detroit. Perhaps the city has been operated for generations by democrats. I don't believe that destroys my notion that republicans can drive a city into the ground with just as much skill.
We're probably on the same page regarding economics. The other stuff, dems vs. repubs, is small stuff (to me).
