Ok just did some research on huskies, it seems they arent exactly good guard dogs. From siberianhuskyclub.com:
weird, but you can still get an alaskan malamute. looks about the same, and will scare the shit out of everyone.

You are the reason there are gun laws!Damn you Americans and your laxed gun laws! I want a fuckin gun dammit.
poto most husky's are friendly as and can easily be led away by strangers.. i've heard of many being stolen that way.
unless of course yours has had some training...
How much did he cost you?
It's cute!
Wow, your dog looks awesome. What's the exact breed and has it proven itself as a good guard dog?
she's not a husky, she's a wolf-shep, Timberwolf and German Shepard mix... she's much smarter than an ordinary dog, and really hasn't needed any training, although I have taught her a few tricks... she's pretty friendly to me, but doesn't like new people until after I tell her it's ok...
she was free... this weird old Indian dude gave her to me...
thanks
she's a hybrid 75% Timberwolf and 25% German Shepard... she's been a great guard dog...
anybody interested in the story of how I got her and more pics of my dog can see em on my crappy blog my dog | poto.me
I've heard wolf-shepherd crosses are excellent dogs. I think they started breeding them in Eastern Europe somewhere, hence the name Romanian or Czeck Wolfdog or something like that. They don't sell them in Australia, though.
That is one fucking awesome looking dog.
Yep. They will also try and kill cats and other small pets. Even the apparently friendly ones can snap at any time.yeah, they make great dogs, but they aren't for everybody... they have a very high prey drive, so it's not a good idea to get one if you have small children or plan on having kids anytime soon... it's sad, but a lot of people buy them for novelty and don't care for them properly...

Saw 5 in the pound when i went looking for a dog. They said people surrender them all the time.
They can escape 6 foot fences and need incredibly secure yards. Certainly not a dog for everyone.
Good luck with the Rottweiler - where you getting her/him from?
6 months of being a registered gun club member and (I think it's) 25 logged hours on a firing range, as well as cert I instruction on handling, safety and maintenance. Then you can apply for a license, get it in the mail in a couple of weeks, then just waltz into your nearest gun-smith and make sure you buy a safe as part of your first purchase... Don't be shocked by the range though. We're pretty much limited to revolvers, bolt action rifles and shotguns here.Damn you Americans and your laxed gun laws! I want a fuckin gun dammit.
Poto: Part wolf hey? That'd be an awesome dog to have... They're so pack oriented. I wish we had them here. Guess I could settle for a dingo. It'd keep the neighbour's kids out of the yard at least.
But any large dog is a good security dog, as most people just see a big dog and piss off. My current one is an adorable moron that rolls over for strangers, but he's 38kg and likes to bark.
I haven't had a break-in since I got my dog...

I also put up some of those 'beware of dog' signs... I think that helps deter people...
I want to steal your dog.
