Here are my thoughts on hiring someone.

If I could have used this guy, I would have said;

"This is what I need done, this is how much I will pay you per hour, I think it will take X hours but if it takes you longer that's fine, just explain to me why my estimate was off. You will get paid regardless."

Then he says, "When do you want this done by?"

and I give him a casual, "Whenever you can get it done, say the next 10 days."

Then I judge when he got it done, how he got it done and what it cost me.

Then I decide if I want to use him again. If not, I say thanks and don't give him any more work.

If you're going to treat someone like a retard and try to pay them peanuts, exactly what sort of positive outcome were you hoping for?

G: I would never treat someone like a retard no matter who they are or what they do. Neither would I offer them peanuts since my goal is and has always been to find people that 'want' to work with me and exhibit a certain loyalty to my ventures.

So far the only way I have accomplished doing this, is by truly, genuinely 'caring' for them, their families and their well being. Paying a fair or slightly higher wage then needed IF I can afford it is part of that.

Like many here there is a TON of stuff I need done. If OP would have come out and said: Hey, right now I'm happy with $10 an hour we could have talked about it and I would have adjusted the work he would have done accordingly and thrown some work his way just to help out.

However, all I got was the hmnn... depends on the work, the level of work etc..

I didn't want to insult OP hourly $ wise since it sounds like he has a lot of good quality experience. What I got back just seemed to vague and wishy washy to me and something my gut told me not be involved in because it would eat up my time. I have really learned to value, guard my time as much as possible lately and to spend as much as possible with my family.

So, I just stick to my current processes and folks which has been working out for me instead of going out of my way.

I don't know about the treatment here. But i don't agree with peanuts part. The OP clearly said he needs a job with payment higher than in his local McDuck. So why to pay more?

A good employee produces multiples of his wage in benefit to your project or company.

If he doesn't you don't want him around anyway.

I'm not an English master like yourself, but shouldn't english be capitalized?

I believe shalt is present tense and I'm fairly sure smited isn't even a real word, shouldn't that be smote? There are probably more things, but again, I'm not an English master.
