lol look at these threads

A lot of the problem isn't just in the new members. It's also in the medium-new members who just flame users (even ones with legit questions) and don't give anything back.

I think most people on WF have learned a lot from it. Answering simple questions seems to me like a decent way to pay that back. Of course it will always be optional, but its just something to think about.

Awesomeness.

Fuck that... why should I have to scroll because they are stupid?

I hate the tendency of bringing everything down to the lowest common denominator to save the tards. It is like the Mac Coffee thing that says hot.

I say fuck 'em, let them get burnt.

I do like the idea of the quiz. Questions like:

Ninja SE1 is:

A- The latest SEO Technique
B- A high end SEO Technique used only by the best SEOs
C- An Out Dated SEO Technique
D- None of the above.

The correct answer is actually E) Both A and B

Edit: I have heard that the software necessary to effective do Ninja SE1 is quite hard to get as it manipulates the spiders on the Google

1) Charge a small fee to post .... solely to weed people out (As aforementioned)
2) DAMNIT nvanprooyen took my idea!

"You should have Steve from C2M screen them. And post video."

Some times its just how you are feeling on that day. If you look at my user cp for example, I have a whole page of +rep. And I'd say for every one useful post, I have one telling someone to go fuck themselves with a chainsaw. Sometimes thats just needed.

Putting a post limit on the forum is only going to be for the worst. There will be a nonstop spam of stupid, retarded, nonsense replies/threads while people try and get to the required post count. Putting all that in the Newbies sections is terrible as they are actually the ones that need the help the most.

So what to do? Let people come in and post right away and fire up the ban hammer when their too retarded to follow the rules.

I think my post count qualifies me to be a medium-new member, so I'd like to respond to this...

If you attempt to apply an objective filter on something as subjective as people in a forum, you'll end up alienating some potential quality members and getting too-concerted efforts from spammers/ scammers/ ebook peddlers who will find a way in just for spite.

Since people, forums, and their interactions are implicitly subjective- it requires a subjective evaluation. Posts could be monitored and modded (perhaps a Newbie Review Mod) beyond ten- maybe even up to the initial 50- but I think going as far as 100 is just too cumbersome on already overworked mods. A test would be interesting on a trial basis, but if someone is genuinely 'new' and can't pass it- instead going to Warrior Forum or DP, they're going to come back to WF at some point in the future worse for the experience.

Context is important. It would be unjust to judge people based on 'not giving back' who reside exclusively in the domain of "Shooting the Shit". Maybe 10% of the time there is something quality that deserves a serious response. Most of it is just, well, shooting the shit. Can you penalize people for flaming one another when posting in an anything-goes space? W/r/t the other forums- Affiliate Marketing, SEO, etc... all of that is fair game and one-word/ unintelligent/ flaming replies clutter threads and make it harder to get the wheat from the chaff.

As a medium-new member- I lurk much more often than I post. But where there is something I can contribute... I do. Legal issues, especially around trademark/ patent/ copyright things I have experience in. PPC/ PPV/ Media Buying I bite my tongue. There are others here with a lot more experience and I simply haven't earned my stripes enough to make a comment. For this reason, Wickedfire is an immeasurable resource to get realtime actionable information from people with that knowledge base.

Especially as a new or medium-new member.
