Hmm.. so I'm wondering what goes thru heads of people like you. Obviously you didn't get this treatment for feeding the hungry or curing the ill. Was it worth it what you did? Would you do it again? Do you believe in karma? Do you feel "they fucked you" or you got what you deserved?
you could say EXACTLY the same thing about guys who run drug cartels for decades. yet, they do it.

It's the cost of doing business. You win some and you loose some. Hell yea it was worth it. I'm 21 and have nothing to loose. In the back of your head you know what can happen, but you take the risk. At the end of the day I still came out on top. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.
Being sued sucks, but there is no jail time involved. So whats the worst that can happen? You loose some money? If your smart enough you can make it back.
I'm no expert so dont quote me but I'm pretty sure there have been many people who really didn't deserve to get fucked by the FTC and were following any and all guidelines... yet they still got fucked.

I don't know I haven't heard of one yet. In every FTC case I've heard of, read about, etc. - something very very shady was going on. I think it takes a lot to get their attention. From what I can tell because they have limited resources they prioritize "the worst of the worst" or "public interest" and go after them.
I'll say this, I'm personally happy there's FTC. May they live long lives and prosper. Without them things would be much worse. There's so many people who are willing to screw others for money. The consequences or the threat of consequences (FTC, etc) at least keeps those fuckers in check to some degree.
Without checks like that you basically have a third-world country where anything goes. Ironically, the people pulling this shit wouldn't wanna live in those countries

It's quite tragic that certain people have a very strong mindset that says you have to screw other people to get rich. You really don't.
But I know this mindset that you have is very strong and I don't hope to change your mind. Mostly writing this for other people.
How about the opposite? Those who provide REAL value to people get REALLY rich.
Look at Facebook, Google, etc. etc. Look at the Walton family who built Walmart. Look at Subway founders who gave people healthy (or healthier) fast food. Read Forbes 400. Tell me how many of them built a business based on screwing consumers and leeching value.
No, no they're no angels but they provided a ton of value to people and people have rewarded them in spades. Their businesses were not built on fraud and leeching value from the equation.
You can't build a billion dollar business on fraud. A few million, yes. Tens of millions, sure. 100s? Say hello to your icons, Mr. Willms and Mr. Warshak.

I never screwed anyone to make money. There is a difference between being an outright scammer and being a good & aggressive businessman.
The reason I said you will never be rich is because I can see you do not have the mindset. In the real world you have to take risks and be aggressive to get ahead. Everyone of those companies you listed are on top because of their aggressiveness. The owner of Facebook screwed his two friends in or to get to where he is.
How many small businesses do you think wal-mart put out of business? Do they give a shit about them? NO. I own a few gas stations and if Wal-Mart built a store around one of my stations I would be fucked. I doubt they would give me any compensation.
The chances of anyone on this forum ever creating the next Facebook or Google is slim to none. So why not make comparisons to real world examples? There is no room for emotions when it comes to making money. You can't feel bad if you make your competition go out of business. You can't feel bad if your tenant can't pay their rent.
Funny story, when I was negotiating with the FTC, and told them I could not come up with the requested amount at one shot guess what they told me. "That's not our problem. You will have to figure it out". Those where the exact words. Did they have any heart or sympathy when it came to collecting? Not a single shit was given.
Couldn't agree more with everything you said. Keep on living in fantasy land jetto you can read about walmart's "value" all day long and feel warm and fuzzy inside but at the end of the day all of the top companies got there for a reason like jhindi said. I'm not saying that they are secretly scammers or that they are not providing value, because they really do provide value, but at the same time they are using cut throat business tactics to eat up other companies and take over as much as possible, and they are definitely not as holy as you probably would like to think.
