NEW Facebook Ads

Okay I need help - how are you guys tracking your FB stuff? Because I use FB Ads Manager to throw up 100s at a time, so I am tracking ads individually per sub id, but without any automated tracking it becomes difficult to decide in cases like "Higher CTR, lower CVR ad" vs "Lower CTR, higher CVR ad" to decide without spending 2 hours in Excel.

Why I am not using P202? It just does not seem very well suited to Facebook. Obviously manually recreating 100s of ads and giving each one an unique tracking link is retarded and impossible. And while I could pass the subids generated by the Ads manager as keywords, a) 202 operates based on unique subids (while in reality different FB campaigns might all have subids each from 1 to 100 etc) and b) I could not individually update CPC costs for keywords/ad subids.

Any advice?

Just create 1 direct linked tracking link. so "your-tracking-domain.com/t202&kw=". the "kw=" variable is how u track. i personally to this: "my-tracking-domain.com/t202&kw=email-submit_11-30-09_" After the last _ goes ur subid. so your keywords will come out as:

-email-submit_11-30-09_0
-email-submit_11-30-09_1
-email-submit_11-30-09_2
-email-submit_11-30-09_3
-email-submit_11-30-09_4

Update the average CPC stat u get from facebook, make sure u used a tracking pixel to track conversions, and judge ads based on their ROI, not ctr or cvr.

Hope you understood all that.

If anyone can figure out a 100% sure fire way to get impressions back on dating ads (without making a new account), PM me and after I can verify that it works, I will personally send you $5000 via paypal.

Thanks, that definitely helps clearing away the a) issue, but it won't work when bidding CPM right? Because there is no way I can update CPC for individual subids only - just the campaign as a whole...

actually, here's another answer, this one directly from facebook (taken from another forum), in response to whether they 'throttle' dating ads:

That makes sense, nice find thanks +rep.

I was getting pissed why sometimes I'd get impressions and other times not. Actually a good change imho, since single/male/30 now no longer gets 100% dating ads it seems CTR is actually up a bit more than it used to be.

dammit, why don't you just put your avg cpc there?

or you can just look at the fucking roi

And how is t202 supposed to guess what my individual Ad CPCs are (which is what gives me a ROI to begin with, in conjunction with EPC) if all I enter is my campaign-wide CPC?

Question on FB Ad Manager -- keeping it in the mega FB thread and all. I am considering getting the FB Ad Mgr., but I understand you have to manage bids manually. If you're deploying 100's of ads/day it seems like it will be super difficult to stay on top of all those ads. (I do everything manually today, and I literally spend the entire day deploying, monitoring and adjusting bids on ads -- can't imagine how I'd keep on top of 1000's of ads).

There are several new FB ad mgr. tools coming out that offer automated bidding, but they're way more $. How do you guys manage the bid process on Ad Mgr.?

get a software that does ALL that.

oh sorry, it was a typo, by roi i actually meant conversion rate..

and about the cpc thing, i guess you'll have to analyze it manually..
usually i have two windows open, one is the fb campaign page(you get your total spending here), and one is the p202 keywords analyze page(and you get your revenue here which is correct, not estimated), and i do the math of roi myself.

is anyone else having trouble getting impressions? I bid 1$ cpm and I was able to only get 1 impression in a few hours with a target of 60,000...

Using a combination of the Analyze Keywords & Analyze Text Ads you can track which adcopy/image combo performs the best. Triangulation can save you a ton of time in creating ads in Prosper as well as the Facebook Ad Manager.

Just looked at my Geo stats on my tracking interface. I tested one of my old US campaigns yesterday, got a few of the usual stray clicks from random countries - but 17% of my traffic came from 'Other' - as in no country.. Has anyone seen this?
