Seahawks fucked themselves calling the timeout, lol. :(
I've seen a lot more practice kicks missed courtesy of TOs followed by the real deals being good than I have kickers miss kicks because of being iced.

In fact, I've seen kickers rush out to the field and not get set in time before missing.

Got to be careful when trying to ice a kicker, call that TO before the line is set, right when the long snapper touches the ball. That will prevent a kicker from a practice and still give him plenty to think about the pressure. Carroll timed that, looks foolish in hindsight.

Icing the kicker is probably the stupidest thing all coaches feel a need to do. The nerves of the kicker aren't going to get flustered by an unexpected timeout. The whole point of icing is to literally get the kicker's muscles to tighten up by standing in the cold.

It's stupid and annoying that they do it.

Fucking prevent D prevents you from winning.

25 seconds left. Falcons never should have been in position to win that game.

Huh? The Falcons were in position to win for the entire game except for about 30 seconds! :anon.sml:

Oh yeah, Atlanta almost fucked it up for themselves for sure. But it pisses me off that Carrol and Co. put themselves into a position to win late in the game and then promptly gave up 2 consecutive passes for 40 yards, with only 25 seconds to go in the game.

Instead of going into the Prevent, why not rush all the LBs at once and overload the protection, forcing the QB to have to either throw up a fade route to an outside receiver or on a hot read where the receiver would be tackled after at most a 10 yard gain in the field of play.

Put Sherman on an island with his guy. Play man to man with Browner but shade Earl Thomas towards Browner's side in case he gets beat by the fade pass. All other DBs take the short stuff, while keeping the receivers inbounds.

Seems like a better plan than playing 30 yards off the line of scrimmage, waiting for the receivers to find open spots in the zone.

Patriot's look good, but against the Raven's they might have a tough time, they will have to shut down the running game, I think Patriots by 3-5 points

The Seahawks would have done better to try to run down the clock before scoring that last TD. ATL would have eventually called time out, but they were in freak mode at the time, and probably wouldn't have realized to do that for another 30 seconds or so. Not sure that would have been enough to win though, with the way they gave up all those yards.

I remember a game last year where the defense would try to let the other team score, and the RB was almost tackled by his own team trying to get in the end zone.

Look at Denver. They made Manning lay down with 40 secs left, Atlanta got the job done with like, what...23 sec? Fucking PEYTON MANNING!

Denver should have won that game, they gave Raven's some breathing room, they fucked up themselves, Denver was heavy superbowl contenders.

Brady choking, come on man. Thats one smooth operator.

Belichick wants one more Superbowl; I think his ready to retire.
