What's the big deal? If he's trying to get along with foreign peoples and cultures, and get shit done, why does it matter if he bows to someone out of respect because it is a major part of their culture?
PS: Usually I just post "Sup guys" in these political/religious threads but this topic comes up a lot and it makes me wonder why some people really hate that he does this. I don't like talking about politics/religion so don't think for a SECOND that I'm backing up Obama, or talking shit about him either.

If it's specifically some country that has that in their culture, ok. Japan's culture does have some bowing, however the protocol is that the inferior bows to the superior, so even in that sense he's off-base.
But Saudi Arabia? The Tampa mayor? The Chinese premier? It's starting to look strange, and when you consider the huge influx of foreign donations that propelled him to power, well, people are starting to put 2 and 2 together.
Hasn't worked so far. Iran is still on its way to go nuclear. North Korea is still building bombs and threatening South Korea. China is still hacking our banking and millitary networks. Russia is still strong arming our allies in eastern europe.
The "world" doesn't respond to weakness. The world ONLY responds to strength and BO just doesn't measure up.

Leaders do not bow to other leaders. The handshake has been a greeting from one leader/dignitary to another for ages. It may be a part of their culture, but in ours it's a sign of subservience.
that was put a lot more eloquently than i could have said it.. it doesn't matter if it's proper in their culture. it's also proper in islamic countries to go wash your feet before prayer and dinner, but you don't see PMs or presidents pulling their $600 shoes off.
tl;dr - customs be damned, you don't touch your toes in front of arab kings, japanese PMs, or allah.
America is the leader of the free world, whether you like that or not. We lead, all others follow. Be proud of that. Be proud to be an American. We bow to no one. Some call that American "elitism" or whatever the liberal hippie bullshit term is, I call it American pride.
A quick look back with comparisons of the Carter & Reagan years should tell you history will repeat itself ..... yet again.
Reagan was strong, powerful, Presidential and took no shit from anyone and was actually successful in changing the world.
Carter was a pussy and our enemies (and some allies too) laughed at us.
