Ron Paul in statistical tie for first in Iowa

Propaganda is powerful shit.

This is true, keep saying something eventually people take it as the truth. The media shouldn't be trying to pick winners and losers. He's polling well so not sure why he couldn't win. Haters going to hate.

Romney isn't leading any states except NH..

Give it time, but trust me I hope you're right.

Gingrich will fail out and he shot himself in the foot pretty hard with his statement on Palestine. RPs ad attacking him was pretty good too.

Paul, although it took me a while to admit, is proving to be unelectable. Most of his policies are on a better track than we currently are, but he's not doing what any president has to do to be elected: act the part. He has to act like an electable president. This means wearing a suit that fits him, (in the republican case) mentioning Jeebus a lot, and catering to the voting crowd. By "the voting crowd", I mean the crowd that elects him to the primaries...not the crowds now that vote pre-primary. The masses don't concern themselves with these polls for the most part (and I don't have statistics on this one although I'd like to see them).

In 2008 Ron Paul went for the younger demographic and failed horribly in the election. He's picked up a lot of steam this time around...with the younger demographic. In 2012 he'll simply fail. He's not going after the voting demographic, and that's why I think Romney will take it.

Even if it's "fake", Paul should know that he has to put on an act for the American people. Do whatever great policy changes you're going to make once you're actually president, but until then play the game. RP is trying to change the game and it's not going to work.

And even if he does win the Republican primary, he's going to have a hell of a time outspeaking Obamuh. Talking to hillbillies about the business cycle isn't going to do shit to gain their vote.

How come every time someone mentions anything political (on forums, on facebook, anywhere), all I see is total unwavering support for RP and nothing but unbridled hatred for NG, yet NG is supposedly doing so well in these polls? Who the fuck likes NG? I have yet to see one person who's like FUCK YEAH NEWT HE'S GONNA CHANGE EVERYTHING.

forums != real life

So you like RP but want him but want him to act like a dbag like every other politician. Did you ever think that he is gaining all this traction BECAUSE of the things hes doing and not doing?

Old people don't use forums. Old people vote.

Who is a bigger threat to Mainstream Media's owners, someone who will keep or change the status quo? Newt is the status quo, Ron Paul will change it.

This, coupled with the fact that they want to keep Obama in power since they already know how he affects them and made deals with, is why they want to set Newt or Romney up against Obama. They know they can tear them down to help Obama win. Ron Paul is a wildcard in a race against Obama and will have dire consequences for them should he pull off a win.

This is why you will never see the truth in the "news", they control it and they control "popular opinion" through ignorance and flooding people's minds with what they want them to believe.

He's playing the game to an extent. I don't think he's going to sacrifice his beliefs, but he has been talking more about "reducing deficit" instead of ending the IRS, "sensible foreign policy" instead of non-intervention, etc. He views haven't changed since 2008, but his terminology has softened a bit.

And as far as beating Obama, I think it will be a landslide for RP unless they try and rig the elections, which happens more frequently than we'd all like to admit.

What traction is he gaining exactly? Ask your mom, her mom, and all their friends if they know who Ron Paul is. I did, and they had no fuckin idea! And my dad just rehashed what the media said, saying he's unelectable and a crazy old man. Do you think Obama was elected because of his rock solid fiscal policies? Christ, grow up.

He's not gaining traction. He has the exact same crowd behind his back as he did last election, just in greater numbers. This is literally just another repeat, and I thought RP would be smarter than this.

first they ignored him
then they laughed at him
then they fought him

then they found his many interviews with Alex Jones
then they laughed at him again
then he was laughed out of office for good

Not sayin its right.. but can easily see the Alex Jones association taking him down.

My family is die hard republicans, my dad is fully convinced to vote for Ron Paul, everyone else likes him but uses the "I dont know if he can get elected" bull shit, I'll have them convinced when I see them Christmas.

Maybe if your family wasn't getting their info from you, they could see the light.

My rural MN farmer grandparents were Ron Paul fans before I told them anything about him.

I've been telling them to look at Ron Paul for years, and haven't said anything to them that I've said here.

You're ignoring the obvious fact that MAINSTREAM America listens to the MAINSTREAM. The media provides the mainstream, and as we know the media hates Ron Paul.

I didn't just say "sample your dad". I said your mom, your grandma, and all of their friends. I will guarantee you 80% of them don't know who Ron Paul is, unless you're in a ridiculously politically intelligent family. I'm not and neither are *most* people. They look at who the media favors and then pays extra attention to them in debates, and less attention to those the media doesn't favor. They figure the media will tell them who's relevant.

In 2008 Ron Paul went for the younger demographic and failed horribly in the election.

He did as good as possible with the amount of media attention he received and did more than anyone in years to turn people on to libertarian-type ideas. It's not like he was Rudy Giuliani and everyone knew who he was and he was constantly portrayed on tv as a hero.

And even if he does win the Republican primary, he's going to have a hell of a time outspeaking Obamuh. Talking to hillbillies about the business cycle isn't going to do shit to gain their vote.
Paul would already get the "hillbilly" vote by default. He would need to appeal to those normally inclined to vote democrat and things like being antiwar and pro marijuana legalization would appeal to at least some of those people.

But I agree with some of what you are saying and think that someone like Gary Johnson would do better among casual voters, especially with females. Hopefully Johnson or Rand Paul run in 2016.

too bad you're way too dumb to see the irony in your posts ,dipshit.

LoL @ this pussy

Hence why I can't help but not care about politics. As tinfoil hat as it sounds, I can't help but feel like whoever "they" want to win, will win, regardless of how anyone votes.

"They", of course, being The Illuminati.

NEWT

14 + 5 + 23 + 20 = 62

6 x 2 = 12

2012

We're fucked.

LoL @ the math
