I know that Google has been disapproving ads for a while that don't meet these requirements, but never suspended accounts. Now they will.

Dear AdWords Advertiser,

We're writing to let you know about a change to Google's advertising policies that might affect your AdWords account.

In the coming weeks, we'll be expanding our mobile content services policy. In addition to the current requirements at AdWords Help, we will require text and image ads for these services to display the price and billing interval (such as per week or per month) in the ad text, e.g., '$5.99/month.' We will no longer accept text or image ads that don't contain the price and billing interval when promoting mobile content services.

When we make this change, Google will suspend all campaigns identified as being in violation of our revised policy. Our system identified your account as potentially affected. We ask that you make any necessary changes to your ad text to comply with the change, so that your campaigns can continue to run.

For directions on how to modify your text ads, please visit How do I edit my ad text? - AdWords Help. Find instructions on uploading a new image ad at How do I create an image ad? - AdWords Help.

We have given much consideration to our stance on the advertising of this content, incorporating concerns raised by users and discussions with the Florida Attorney General's office, and the potential effect our policy decision could have on AdWords advertisers. However as a business, Google must make decisions about the advertising that we accept. We've given much thought to our policy, as well as the potential effect our policy change could have on AdWords advertisers, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause you.

Sincerely,

The Google AdWords Team

Yet another reason my new motto when looking for traffic sources is anything but Google. Google is always my last resort.

It looks like they "thought about this decision" then decided they'd like to keep raping your pockets for ad revenue so they can't simply disallow mobile content ads. So they make you put ridiculous anti-conversion text on your ads so your EPC drops like a rock while they still get paid for your clicks.

No thanks.

Yikes. This is the most invasive Mobile Policy that I've seen Google roll out. Does it apply to Content Network too? I'm assuming so, which really sucks. Only REALLY stupid people are going to click on those ads now. Maybe it's time to move over to an a la carte ringtones sale process instead of rebill?

Great. I can just see the snowball to other niches now. Probably should have expected it.

They still have to make money, they can't shut down every niche or there would be nothing left.

google makes TONS of money from companies that either don't understand or care about ROI. Like every single SEO / PPC shop which sells paid ad packages with zero actual effectiveness.

Because after they introduced/updated their mobile policies in Nov 07 and July 08 they clearly cracked down on other niches.

Anything that's become popular with an understated rebill eventually gets/will be cracked down on.

Should be interesting to see what it does to ringtones. My guess is the following will happen:

1. CPC's for ringtone keywords will go down tremendously.
2. Payouts on offers will go up (because it should be a more qualified lead).
3. Conversions will go from 5% to .5% and maybe worse.

No. Hasn't happened so far. Only thing has been the mobile offers because they target mostly minors. Oh and data entry waaay back.

why not we create an own search engine, and web 2.0 social network, we could make some venture capital fund, several people here could spend $1.000 and more, $1.000 for 1.000 aff marketer, is $1.000.000
