If you haven't taken a look at the numbers, you'll see that this absolute massacre in terms of electoral votes shows that your party is out of touch with the American people. You start irrelevant wars, threaten new ones, turn surpluses into deficits, allow Wall Street to turn into chaos, and expand government. Your party has turned into absolute chaos. You got greedy and now you are paying for it. Even the most ridiculous republican pundits showed up on TV today telling everyone that the republican party needs to reform it's ideas.

Your posts have been very intelligent until this statement. You, the media, his bots, everyone does not know what Obama is all about. Can you name a piece of MAJOR legislation that he has passed? No you cant, because he hasn't.
We have a mayor of a major city in my state that is 19 years old and challenges Obama's experience. That doesn't mean he will be a bad president. It just means that NO ONE can claim to know what he is about and how he will govern.
You have no idea if he is the right choice or not. I hope he is. Yes I am conservative but I don't want the US to fail. The state of our union is more important to me than my social idealolgy. I hope that he is the greatest president of all time. If he solves all our problems, then I will be a Democrate next election.
If he listens to his failed congress then more than likely he will fail as well. His Democratic congress has the lowest approval rating of any congress of all time. If he grows some balls and pushes Pelosi, Reid and Barney Fudd aside, he could possilby do well.
We will see. Neither you nor I know if this was the RIGHT choice or not.

It's hard to speak for the whole country, but generally people were glad to see Maggie go.
She played a bit part in the decline of manufacturing here. Closing the coal mines particularly pissed off those on the left, lots of skilled workers were left unemployed. Not that that was a bad thing from a global perspective - our loss would have been the gain of other (most likely poorer) countries.
One notable positive thing she did was increase home ownership massively by selling off social housing, unfortunately the money raised wasn't re-invested in housing, leaving the UK still (nearly 20 years later) struggling with a lack of affordable housing (made worse by massive property price increases).
Thatcher was bad, but compared to Blair... at least she only embarked on one unpopular war. Maybe I'm biased though as I was a kid with very different (right of centre) opinions under the conservatives and have spent most of my adult life under neo-labour.
Are you saying that your state voted 99% for McCain? If you are, you're a dirty liar. The highest state for McCain I could find was Oklahoma at 66%.
The recession hasn't hit my state either and we have the majority Dems, so your republican barrier is a bit of a fantasy.
I live in Tulsa, While a lot of Tulsa is Liberal, most of the state is very hard ass conservative. After the Murrah building was bombed the state turned very right and didn't look back. We understand the importance of having a strong home land defence. We won't stand by while our children our blown to bits again because of Liberal weakness and political correctness.
Well now it all makes sense. I'm not even gonna try anymore, lol. Oklahoma is like it's own little country.
