No. A lot of innocent lives have been taken in this war. People have been totured, families killed and 14 year old girls have been raped.

Most of that was probably done by Iraqis, btw. And a lot of it in the name of islam.

But what actually gets me is NOT the atrocities of war (they happen in every war) but that this war has been started by religion.

Just because Bush's decisions were informed by christianity(which, yes, is retarded) does not mean the Iraq invasion was caused by religion. If Bush were an atheist he probably would have went in, because of the people he had advising him.

Besides, Bush didn't start any war. The war was really a continuation of the first gulf war, which Saddam started.

What caused the second phase of the war(the invasion in 2003) was that after Saddam invaded his neighbor and caused much of the world to fight against him and defeat him, he refused to live up to his side of the bargain as the defeated party and submit to weapons inspections.

As far as I'm concerned the only way you can make the case that we weren't justified in invading Iraq is to make the case that letting Saddam carry on with his shenanigans indefinitely would have been the right thing.

The war in Iraq had very little to do with religion and a lot to do with oil. If there wasn't a lot of oil in the middle east, the 30+ coalition of nations/armies wouldn't have given a shit about Kuwait being invaded and middle easterners would be free to murder each other without gaining much attention from the west.


P.S. This is possibly the most retarded thread I've ever been involved in.
