What are your top 5 mac apps

Because of all the recommendations in this thread (plus my love for Coda, another Panic product) I bought Transmit 4 yesterday and LOVE it. Best FTP program, way better then FileZilla.

You can mount your FTP/SFTP server as a drive in finder and it will stay there even after quitting Transmit.

chrome (best browser)
transmit (ftp)
utorrent (torrents)
textmate (coding)
prism (stand-alone web apps)
vmware fusion (emulation)
adium (IM)
tweetdeck (twitter)
Dropbox (sharing)
caffeine (keep your mac awake)
growl (notifications)
quicksilver (get it and learn it)
macpar deluxe (par file restorer)
keepassx (save passwords)
irecordmusic (for ripping myspace music)
evernote (get it)
screenflow (best screen capture)
renamer (great for renaming a ton of files - fb image rips)
unison (newsbinz downloader)

what makes transmit so much better than filezilla, lots of peeps have recommended it.

i have all my sites stored in FZ but if necessary I will redo them all in transmit

expose rocks

on a mpb you can also use a four finger slide up or down for these functions.

I don't even have a Pro, but a 13" MacBook and mine does that. The pad is the shit. 2 fingered scrolling and 2 finger right click is fucking ace. Plus the accelerating pad, which i no longer notice but windows users whinge about. :)

Chrome, WordRoom, DropBox, QuickSilver, Adium, Paintbrush [because Preview is worthless and PSP is excessive for quick edits], NetStumbler or KisMAC... Pretty much all I use on mine.

RE: Expose, Ubuntu 10.04's Compiz > Expose and I never use the latter on my OSX system.

fuck me this is awesome... i love it so far. SO many hotkeys, which is like spooge deluxe for me.. i just have to learn them all now

wickedfire does look somewhat weird though. the words are al extremely small on a mac, i wish they were just like 1-2px bigger

Place 2 fingers on the pad and open and close them. Zooms in and out. ;) Well, it will if you have it enabled in trackpad prefs.

i just customized the fuck out of a few things.. ie default folder view (why it was on that as default is beyond me lol), plus just installed like tons of things from this thread.

im still learning hotkeys.. so far control + , is my favorite to show settings window for any app open.

can someone explain what alt usually does for rightclick menus? i notice it changes them, but what 'category' do those alternate menus usually fall into..

absolutely nothing, transmit is a piece of shit in comparison to filezila

edit: i guess i could contribute to the thread, too. :P linkinus is a wicked awesome irc client, and betterzip pwns the fuck out of the default archiving utility and supports more compression formats

irecordmusic (for ripping myspace music)

Speaking of ripping music...

Does anyone know of a Mac-based alternative to Applian ReplayMusic?

I need a way to rip tracks off Spotify, but it's such a pain in the ass having to start up my virtual PC every time I want to grab some music for my iPod (which connects to my mac natively, so it's a hassle transferring files back and forth).

I know there are lots of ways to record what plays through my soundcard - but you can't beat the fact that ReplayMusic automatically splits, identifies, and tags each track with its artist and song title.

Anyone? :xmas-smiley-016:
