Why I live in Springfield, Missouri...

at first I thought it was office space, which was very cool.. but it looks like an apartment or condo after seeing the kitchen and washer dryer.

If so, I live outside Louisville, Kentucky and we have about the same prices

but what about your life

I spend 23 hours a day inside working. With the exception of going out to eat or seeing a movie, I don't go out. I've only left the city limits twice in the last year.

So yeah, my apartment is my life.

Important note for anyone wanting to start a hosting company: Don't.

Don't you get bored?

Because you can't get this anywhere else (in the US) for $1,300/month (2br/2bth)...

/just on the waiting list, don't actually have it...

That's nice, but looks pretty small.
For $1,300/month you could get a nice house with a yard. Or is that just not your thing? (maintenance, taxes, etc...)

Something like this would run around $1,200 (with 5% down) before property taxes:

Yes, I'm sure you know this, being in that area. Just interesting to see prices around the country.

Not really. I've lived in San Francisco, Austin, Oceanside, list goes on... and it was always the same. No matter where I live, I spend the majority of my time at home. I hate to travel.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of houses, renting or owning... But yeah, there are a LOT better deals in Springfield than what I posted. You can literally rent a $500k house for around the same price if you need that much space.

Sell it for 12x your monthly profit (you can probably get more for an established site like this), and do something that doesn't suck.

Nah. I bitch, but I like it. Most days anyway.

Why on earth would you want to live somewhere that snows for half the year?!?!

For $2,200/mo my winters get to look like this

My mom used to live in Springfield (Nixa, actually). It's a great place. In the middle of some beautiful country. Branson's just down the road (if you can tolerate country music, I can't). Bass Pro Shop, FTW. Lamberts.
