Anyone else enjoy the Jeremy Lin show?

^ You didn't even mention kevin love that sad.

And always at the end of the year Westbrook puts up better stats than derrick rose. westbrook is known for starting slow.

Again what im saying is you do not watch the players therefore you dont know who has more talent in passing.

Rubio throws the sickest passes but his players miss. He'd imo have 15-16 apg if he had a team like the celtics.

I purposely left off Love. Skills are there, wow factor not so much.

If Rubio were on bos he would have 5-6 assists. It's not easy playing with a bunch of old men. Poor rondo. If Rubio were on golden st, then maybe 12-13 assists.

Whoa there, assists come from made field goals which come from field goal attempts (duh) and Boston is next to last and last in the league in those categories.

Does this mean that Boston has the second worst offense? No, because they are second to last in rebounds and also near the bottom in steals. Less rebounds and less steals are two main things that contribute to less field goal attempts.

Minnesota has over 300 more shot attempts than Boston and part of the reason is because Minnesota is one of the top rebounding teams.

Boston has Pierce with over 5 assists a game and also Ray Allen and Garnett at almost 3. So if Rubio was on the Celtics, not only would he have a team with less offensive chances, he also likely wouldn't have the ball in his hands as much as he does now.

Thread Derailed

On a side note, not that I'm not enjoying the Rubio, Rondo, Step Curry info in a thread about Jeremy Lin, but the Knicks won again with Lin sealing it with a 3 point play and a 3 damn near the buzzer. Yeah you haters can talk about the turnovers, but dude is straight killin em!

That game was unreal. It was so shitty for the Knicks until the very end. I gotta hand it to Shumpert with that steal and dunk. After that, Lin took over and tore shit up.

damn this kid is good.
if you look closely you can actually see jesus sneaking behind him as he starts to make the shot, it was of course jesus that shot that 3 pointer, its very good of him to give credit to other players.

Its hard to believe this many people still watch the nba. I'm guessing everyone in this thread gambled/gambles real heavy in college/high school

I was a kid during the Jordan Era when basketball was right there with the NFL in terms of popularity. The NBA sucked for a good 10 years. Last year was the best year for the sport since the Jordan Era, this year has been even better than last year. The NBAs arrow is pointing up.

Don't forget in America I would say in terms of popularity

NFL>>>MLB>NBA

But in a global perspective

NBA>>MLB>>>NFL

Also check out the Big Markets that are covered with quality teams

NY? Check.
LA? Double Check.
CHI? Check.
Florida? Check.
Texas? Check.
New England Area? Check.

Also, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are arguably bigger names than anyone in any other major American sport and are at the very least right up there with the top popular athletes which include NFL qbs.

I'd say the pool of most popular US athletes (4 major sports) are; Lebron, kobe,Tom Brady, Peyton manning and maybe Derek Jeter (undeserved, imo)

where is this hate coming from i dont understand? Your saying if rubio was the pg was on the celtics hed have 5-6 assists because playing with Ray Allen Paul Peirce and Kevin garnett is so difficult. Im done you proved your insane.

Refer to Moxie's post.

Having great players will not give guaranteed assists. It's not as easy as it sounds. But refer to Moxie's post since he gives a better explanation.

Argue all you want about who throws prettier passes and can or can't defend, Westy getting a ring this year. And it won't be the last.

I understand that but for rubio to have 5-6 assists per game in boston. Thats spewing hate. I guess you all think the same for john stockton and steve nash.

Oh, no doubt he'll be top 3 or 4 when it comes to assist if he were to play for Boston. It's just that Paul Pierce is trying to be a facilitator now after a rough start.
