What Is Lead Scrubbing and How Does It Work? - ShoeMoney®

It wouldn't work for anything to be honest. Most email submit companies employ a technology that tells them if the zip is within 50 miles of the IP address they are using, so they can catch fraud.
Everyone has some form of data validation to ensure they get valid data that you wouldnt be able to replicate the conversions without knowing the validation rules.
Mention shaving and ask for a pay bump while your at it.
Uh, no kidding dude.Shit is real shady out there boys and girls. I know for a fact that many of the top advertisers out there make 90% of their money from shaving. They offer high payouts to get attention, to the point where they would barely make any money, but then they use sophisticated shaving systems to skim 10-30% off the top in seemingly "random" ways so most affiliates don't notice, and they get rich off of that 10-30%. Wish I could be more specific.
The moral of the story is that if you're serious, at some point you need to run your own offers. Period.
That is EXACTLY what happened to me. A couple times now. They ask for more traffic, then fuck you.So let me ask then - does this include advertisers that are members of WF? This could cause a shit storm, especially if certain individuals are shaving...not saying i've had problems, just asking in advance.
Great topic.
I've never been able to get a straight answer from the Advertiser's on this key point to shaving: if you submit a lead that already exists in their database, OR THEIR PARTNER'S DATABASE, does it count.
Note the emphasis on PARTNERS above. This is important because if you submit a lead that is unique to ADVERTISER1.COM but might already be a purchasing customer from their partner ADVERTISER2.COM, they consider this a dupe, even though your lead generated an action. These guys love to pool their databases together into one giant database that they dedupe against. It's unfair because even though Joe Shmoe paid $10 3 years ago to sign up to the site, if he was dormant until you sent him to another website owned by the same company, or a partner thereof, and he made another sale, you should be credited for it.
Since someone is obviously going to start a shitstorm with some uneducated post about so-and-so offer scrubbing, Ad Hustler has a great post that gets you past the "are they are aren't they scrubbing" question.
Maybe it'd be a good idea for some folks who are on the fence about their offer to try this first: Ad Hustler Article In Feedfront Magazine June 2009 | Ad Hustler
Has anyone else here tried this technique? It is an interesting strategy.Technique to stop shaving:
Run a few leads (yourself/friends/family) through the offer. Track conversions. Contact AM and ask for test leads to be nulled as you were testing the offer. AM/Advertiser will look upon you with new eyes as you know your shit. Mention shaving and ask for a pay bump while your at it.
Anyone here got any better advice?
Has anyone else here tried this technique? It is an interesting strategy. My advice for all of you guys is go to the advertiser directly and bypass the networks and ask for a payout that your traffic backs out to with no scrub. Run it and see how your conversion #s compare to when you were running on networks.
