Call Fall military heroes?

And for dead soldiers, we have MEMORIAL DAY.
Then what is Veteran's Day for?

Anyway, another Memorial Day has passed, and my closest Yankee friends (thankfully) didn't rub it in my face (bless them).

Got it covered, jack.

Coal miners - LABOR DAY
Oil rig workers - LABOR DAY
Illegal immigrants who die in meat packing plant accidents - 4th JULY
Agricultural workers who die from pesticide poisoning - ARBOR DAY
Freight drivers who die on the road - LABOR DAY
Chinese workers in electronics factories who die from accident or suicide - COMPUTER DAY
Ogoni tribespeople who starve to death in the Niger delta because oil companies have poisoned their land - KWANZAA

And for dead soldiers, we have MEMORIAL DAY.
Ok, so include soldiers in Labor day?

That is exactly how Rome worked. The parallel between Rome and America is fascinating.

I am trying to think of other empires in the course of human history that were so powerful that an argument could be made that war was obsolete (for them, at that time).

That is to say, throughout most of human history, no matter which tribe/country you belonged to, war was a way of life and it was necessary to cultivate a class of warriors to defend your territory.

I'm trying to think of other examples but none come to mind right now...

It will also be interesting to see if America falls as hard as Rome did.

Veteran's Day is for WWI & WWII soldiers, no?

It's on November 11, which is when Canadian's observe Remembrance Day.

*edit*

Veteran's Day, is in line with Remembrance/Armstice Day, which observes the end of WWI.

Memorial Day observes fallen US troops.

For anyone that served in a uniform. Be it boot camp or retired with 30+ years.

Labor day is for the ones who died for a 40 work week. Or killed by strike busters aka the fuzz

And the winner of the most naive comment this year goes to ... Tall_Building!

Look, I dont know what causes this much disdain toward soldiers, the fact is some professions could cost you your live when doing your jobs helping others. Soldiers, policeman, firefighters, nurses on the front line etc.

When you die performing your duty, you deserve to be called hero.

Not when you some fucking accountant killed on a car accident on the way to work. Not when you some fucking minners trapped in some coal mine somewhere. Not when your monitor falls on you and kills you when you fap to a thread on STS.

When you die performing your duty, you deserve to be called hero.

Are you trying to say fapping to threads on STS isn't my duty? If I die doing that, I'm a hero.

What I particularly like about your comment is the utter stupidity of it. Let have a video break down of this please tosh.o .. . . . . . . . . .

yeah okay guess I wil have to do the work my self,

if you look at the post this is what we get:

Okay hmm. Really? First I don't have distain towards soldiers (well some but that is because I know them on a personal level and they are dickfucks). Now lets look at other professions where you put your life on the line helping others. . .

Ranchers have to fight cattle, machine, chemicals, and stupidity if that don't scream HERO I'm not sure what does.

Deep Sea Fishing, I eat fish A LOT they are the real heroes.

lion trainer at a zoo. . . granted he doesn't nation build, but my kids like to look at the pretty kitty. He should be a hero if he dies.

When you die performing your duty, you deserve to be called hero.

according to you whenever you die on the job also known as doing your duty you are a hero

Question if my job is to attack terrorist 20 miles from my military base but I accidently crash into a mine and blow up is this doing my duty or am I just on my way to my Duty therefore rendering any mention of being a Hero?

And does the accountant become a hero if he accounts his own death?

So coal miners don't help society? Not sure if I follow.

So nickycakes duty does not include fapping on STS ?

You make no sense.

for the record I am not against soldiers just unnecessary wars that puts their lives and my money at risk.

Lets try this then, there are jobs that puts you on the line of fire, or have a high mortality rate performing it, i.e high risk. Dieing or horribly disfigured are the norm rather than the exception. Some brave individuals still take the jobs even so, that however, does not automatically make them heroes.

Doing your duty does not mean you have to die, but if you die in the process of doing it, then you are a hero.

If you are an accountant/ ranchers/ deep sea fisherman/ lion tamer etc., dieing is the exception, no body anticipate to die while doing this kind of jobs. Sure, sometimes accident happen, but if you die on these kind of jobs, you are not a hero, you're just a tragic/freak coincident.

As for nickycakes, that's a bad example, he is immortal

What about people who take jobs that entail almost certain death.

Like leading a platoon in a charge over a bluff?

Or becoming a suicide bomber?

Are they "heroes" too?

Geez, so much hostility here, and whats with the dude that keep comparing soldiers with suicide bombers? Sure they may be heroes to some fucked up individuals, but that's not what we're talking about here.

Heck, even Bernie Madoff maybe a hero to his sons/daughters.

Maybe the better questions before all of this was .......define hero

They aren't just fighting for their country, they're fighting to keep themselves and their friends alive.
