Note the tapered end of the RPG, that is a telephoto lens he is holding.

That's actually a telephoto lens. He's taking a picture around the corner. Clearly.

yes, I'm sure on the spot when you're in an area where getting shot at by RPGs is common, and you can only see them through a poor resolution black & white zoom lens, without reviewing it 100 times on youtube, you'd obviously still think it's a telephoto lens. guns are also visible upon video review.

this isn't the part that's bad, they had every reason to be concerned and fire at that point. the concerning part was shooting the van, but it really all depended at that time.

BRB NOT ENGAGING THE MAGICAL VAN THAT PULLS UP TO AN APACHE STRIKE 3 MINUTES AFTER AN ENGAGEMENT AND ATTEMPTS TO RESCUE INSURGENTS

This is the fucked up part.

What makes you think those weren't just some random people driving down the street?

They, with kids in the car, were going about their business. Saw someone injured. Probably assumed it was a result of an insurgent attack. Saw a person still alive. Tried get that person into the car to get him to the nearest hospital... and instead all got killed.

If they were somehow connected to the group that just got slaughtered, it simply wouldn't make sense for them to expose themselves like that, knowing that the same choppers would fire upon them.

Bad judgment + trigger happy = This.

Def a hard footage to watch. Should of used ground forces instead. Thats what you have ground forces for with all that tech, to use it in complicated situations and to avoid civil casualties.

I'll concede the lens is arguably confused with an RPG, and that was probably just bad judgment. Maybe.

Shooting the van though? Inexcusable.

And I don't know what I expected, having met military kids, but the attitude expressed in these videos is incredible.

the funny part with this here is that the same rednecks that stand for their "civil liberties" aka. owning a gun, see it as an excuse to shoot those people up. Have any one of you ever talked to someone "normal" from Iraq? It used to be quite peaceful. Now you NEED a gun to protect your family from corrupt US-financed cops and death squads. Despite a good start, the US intervention has destroyed the lives of thousands.

IMO They shouldn't have opened fire unless they got shot on themselves. What really shocks me is what they did to the van which was trying to help someone that didn't even carry a gun (you can hear him say "come on buddy, all you need is to pull out a gun")

BUT WATEVAR. Im just some communist european which lives on the goobarments cost.

lol european lol

Go play your soccer kid, real men play american football ;)

So let me get this straight, some 18 year old gunner kid who should probably be working at Burger King has to radio what he sees to his 19 year old communications guy who then has to radio it to some 40 year old commander on the ground? Then the command has to flow up again to the gunner kid who fires? I'm confused why was the gunner waiting to be told to shoot? Who's judgment was used? All in all massive fail..

Just to clarify, I'm in no way saying that it couldn't be mistaken for a weapon at that range. I have no idea if the equipment they use to target is even the same thing that you see in the video or whatever. I even did a double take when i heard them say it was an RPG on the radio but then realized it was one of the camera dudes you just saw 30 seconds earlier shooting a pic around the corner. I just wanted to say that it wasn't "hurr clearly an rpg r u blind rofl" as some retard was attempting to claim.

The video is seriously fucked up, but I think we are all basing our comments on preexisting knowledge. We know that guy was a camera man, we know he would have a telephoto lens. With out being presented with any other information its easy to see why they did it. How many people would be walking around with a 5k+ camera strapped over their shoulder with several guys with AK'47's in a war zone? First thought is not camera its cannon. War zone + Guns + Long tube like object over shoulder = RPG

Call of Duty tactics don't really apply to real war. I can absolutely understand the soldiers' positions in this situation from experience while the majority of you watch a high res youtube video and think you can somehow relate to what's going on.

It's a fucked up situation after the fact - no one is denying that, but it's done. If I saw a guy crouch behind a wall and aim an object at my vehicle - I'm going to assume it's a weapon. And there's more than just RPG's in Iraq. Those cameras aren't the clearest in the air and there's no pause button in real life. It's sad, but it's life.

Ok, I'm done - back to making campaigns.

You're right, it does look like it could be a telephoto lens. But that hardly changes the fact that the dude looked suspicious peeking around a corner like that, the soldiers said they were being fired on, they said they sighted AK's, and it definitely doesn't change the fact that you're a fag. So don't get too excited about it.

Not to mention this video was produced by far-left kooks who build the shit up with their shitty attempts at drama. Accusing the soldiers of murder? Clearly they thought the van was backup for the terrorists. And how many videos do we see where there's a little kid being used as a human shield? Zero, because that wouldn't fit the lunatic left's paradigm of what's occurring over there. This is leftist propaganda intended to smear the U.S. military, plain and simple.
