How BlitzLocal's Founder Trolled A Whole Industry!

Here is our refund policy: Refunds | Affiliate Summit

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I thought about refunding, but I'm not going to.

Instead, I'm having a T-Shirt Made that you and the other organizers should enjoy.

Something along the lines of:

"I paid XXX for a ticket to affiliate Summit and all I got was to listen to a fraud"

I really can't believe that you guys would still find it acceptable to have this guy speak?

Forget about who he is "beefin" with because I don't give a fuck about that. You are going to allow a guy to take the stage that by just about everyones account has no fucking clue what he's talking about.

All you are doing is giving a fraud a platform.

don't worry broes i'll be filming Shawn sucking Dennis Yu's cock on camera regardless whether he likes it or not

Some people really need to relax.

Like seriously as much as I don't think Dennis should be speaking at ASW anymore it doesn't mean everyone should start hating on Shawn. He puts a shit ton of time and effort into the show so we have a place to get together and improve our business relationships and all everyone can do is bash him?

Seriously take a step back for once, grow some balls of your own and stop jumping on the hate train that everyone seems to follow on this forum.

If you have a problem with him speaking either attend for your own entertainment (like I will) or don't attend, it's pretty simple.

Fuck that^.... IGNITE THE TORCHES! (for Dennis)

Let me know your real name and registration number, and I'll refund 1/2 the cost of that Platinum pass anyway, since you're displeased with that session, and you'll still have the pass.

Sean, the networking opportunity alone is worth more than the price for admission so, I don't want any money back.

I just feel like allowing someone like Dennis to have a platform at events like this feeds into "this is all bullshit" mentality that so many are jaded with.

Did you really just say "like seriously"....?

What fucking valley are you from?

I think it's instructive to shine a light on the wrong ways to do things, as well as the right ways.

It's not like we'll be highlighting the things Dennis has admitted to doing as best practices.

I guess, but it's not like there is going to be a disclaimer when he speaks that says "don't be a moron like this guy", right? There are still alot of people out there that will take what he says as "truth" because they don't know what is going on.

Either way, your running the show :) I look forward to seeing the "drama" if any unfold.

There are checks and balances in place with the moderator and his fellow panelists, including Alex Schultz from Facebook, who will certainly not endorse the practices.

When you say "practices" do you mean the stuff he "outed" on techcrunch, or that he's built his entire platform around being a successful FB advertiser when not a word of it is true? I just want to be clear, because it's difficult to know what you're addressing with ambiguous wording like "endorse the practices."

I don't think anyone here has an issue with his methodologies for running profitable FB campaigns. It's that he apparently never has. He scammed a lot of people (through shady business dealings, not talking about FB ads), leveraged his own status by misleading those who already had a platform into promoting him, and then attempted to throw an entire industry under a bus by "outing" scammy ads on FB.

So the outrage that you're witnessing for continuing to have him speak is because continuing to do so after being made aware of what a shady mofo the guy is makes you seem like you're endorsing his business practices.

To Bryn, for my part, it has nothing to do with hopping on some metaphorical hate train. And I'm not blindly bashing Shawn. I've just never been involved in an industry where someone who does business like Dennis Yu wasn't immediately ostracized.

He's a speaker based on his experience as a successful FB advertiser.

Since he was accepted, he wrote the post on TechCrunch about using shady tactics.

I haven't seen his person stats to determine he's not successful on Facebook.

All of this....PLUS the fact that there are probably 5+ people claiming that Dennis actually tried to blackmail them to some extent should be enough for anyone with a shred of common sense to distance themselves or their organization from him.

I really don't know how some of these people can sit on a panel with him without beating the shit out of him. It should be interesting.

One thing is for sure though. If anything does pop off, the responsibility for it SHOULD land square on the shoulders of the organizers of affiliate summit.

People finding fault in Shawn's decision to include Dennis on a session panel need to realize a few things...

First, it's Shawn's conference. He understands the golden rule: He who has the gold, makes the rules. I support his decision for the simple reason it's his event, it's been a quality event in the past (as recent as this past August, no complaints) and ultimately Shawn is a stand up guy. Having Dennis on a panel is not Shawn's attempt to fuck us or validate Yu.

Second, Dennis Yu speaking on a panel isn't an industry changing or defining moment. It's going to come down to this: Yu gives good information that has nothing to do with his behavior this far, he'll be good. Yu starts to be a dick and fuck with the session, I'm guessing Shawn will shut things down and cancel the session on the spot.

Finally, This isn't the first time some schmuck has spoken on a panel. There are print media idiots, SEM idiots, Social guru idiots, and the list goes on, that have appeared on panels, touted shit that's direct from DigitalPoint, etc. Just because it's not hardcore or game-changing information, doesn't mean there is not an audience for it.

Shawn has every right to allow Douche Yu on the panel. If you disagree, get some cash together and hold a competing conference with Aff Summit and then do things better if you think you can.

And in closing, go buy WFReview bitches!

PS - any talk of violence is just fucking stupid. We're basement dwelling geeks for cryin out loud.

Ultimately it is Shawn's decision to allow this Blitzlocal goon to present. Shawn, I know you don't want anyone to record a video, but could you please just allow purely for Dennis.... Pretty please with a cherry on top?
