Massive shooting in Colorado during The Dark Knight, 14 dead

If you disarm the public, citizens become ripe for slaughter (often by cops).

If you're interested in more study, I recommend John Lott. He has written extensively on this topic.

How predictable. Anti-gun advocates use a tragedy to push their pet issue.

You and I agree.

My post was meant for those who argue that banning firearms would make society safer. Some even argue that mass murder, such as we've seen in Aurora, Columbine, etc., would not occur, or might occur less often. The position is usually based on ignorance of data, and inflamed by media accounts of death and mayhem at the hands of gunmen.

Lott presents an exhaustive amount of data in his work that counters common misconceptions regarding gun ownership and crime. I invited the naysayers to read a little on the subject lest they appear foolish.

For some, reading leads to enlightenment.

This is all over twitter at the time.

"RT @NRA_Rifleman Good morning, shooters. Happy Friday! Weekend plans?"

Posted 2 hours ago, after the shooting. Who ever runs that twitter feed is fucked, haha. They deleted it, only made things worse.

anyone who lacks the mental capacity to draw that conclusion is a lost cause and wont be saved by a couple books.

Fucking christ. Now people are blaming the movie and/or video games. Nevermind the fact this guy was a nutjob. Batman and Halo made him do it.

Crazy.

Something similar just happened in my old hood:

2 dead, 23 wounded in Scarborough barbecue shooting - 680News

A friend just told me about a bizarre coincidence. Remember the Eaton Centre shooting a few months back? Apparently there was this girl, a hockey blogger I think, who was at the Eaton Centre, and was apparently in the seat where someone was shot and killed like 2 mins after she up and left.

Well, she was killed in that Colorado Dark Knight shooting.
